Did you know that palm tree's sprout flowers once a year for a couple of weeks? I've seen it happen but never was in time to see the flower stalks sprouting from the leaf axils. They sprout so fast that it's easy to miss the tubular sprouts before they flower.
I circled some of the tubular flower stalks so you can see what I'm talking about. Most of the palm tree's around here have them and within a day or so start sprouting flowers. Some flowers you can see already.
The flower stalks look different from the palm tree fronds *leafs* so it was easy to spot the flowers coming.
Some of the flowers are either bright yellow like these or more of a whitish yellow.
These ones are more of the lighter whitish color.
There's a lot more white flowers than there are yellow flowers on these tree's.
Some of the flowers that sprouted are bright yellow. I'm not sure what the difference is. But so many flowers are on these palm tree's right now and the bee's are everywhere. Once the flowers sprouted from the flower stalks I don't walk under them for a couple of weeks until the flowers and bee's are gone.
I thought it was kinda cool and thought you guys would too. See, I found more flowers. lol
