Book Description
Introduction to Blaize Silver, a multi-great granddaughter of Ruby Silver who is the heroine in "Wild Wild Ghost."
My Review
This is the first book by this author that I've read and I got it free from the author's newsletter. This is supposed to be an introduction to the series so I thought I would read it. But I felt lost from the very beginning. We really don't get any background into these characters at all which was irritating and didn't make sense.
Blaize is in Tombstone when she has a run in with a couple of werewolves, when she gets away she goes to her father and tells him about it. Her father seems like a jerk of a person but we really don't get to know him much so that's the only impression I have of him. When she travels back to Tombstone, her cousin Grace shows up to help out. They are confronted by two werewolves and they kill them but a third werewolf helps them which they though was really weird. And then the demon who cursed her family shows up and taunts them and Grace dies. The werewolf who helped them travels back to her father's place with Blaize and for someone who doesn't like or trust werewolves I found this really weird.
This book gives us no insight into why they battle the werewolves or if all werewolves are bad and why they're bad. And if they're all bad why did this one help her and why is she trusting it to travel with her now. This book was a bunch on contradictions rolled into a bloody mess of a fight. Why did this demon curse her family and who is he? There are too many questions left unanswered and I know this is just an introduction to this series but the introduction wasn't very good so I doubt I will be going forward with this series.
I give this book 1 out of 5 stars.
