Saturday Vittles

My Daughter and I are trying to eat more healthy so I thought I would share some pictures on Saturday's of what we've made.

1 Ingredient Tangerine Sorbet

You might have already seen this recipe floating around the internet but if you haven't I thought I would show you that it actually works! All you need is tangerines and a food processor.

You will need:

8 Tangerines
1 Cookie Sheet
Food Processor

What to do:

Freeze Tangerine segments on a cookie sheet for 3 hours. Or until completely frozen.

Blend the tangerine segments in a food processor using the pulse feature, adding a handful of the segments at a time until the mixture looks very crumbly and you can scoop it together using an ice cream scoop. This only took about 5 minutes.

8 Tangerines made a nice size bowl full that ended up being 4 servings. This is a great Summertime dessert. You can add anything you like or serve with toppings. We ate is as is.

Each serving is 100 calories and 24 carbs.

  3. And tangerines have such a great flavor. This looks like a fun and easy thing to make. No sugar no milk.

  4. I dislike the white pith on oranges. Does it seem to disappear when you made this?

    1. I took off as much as I could because I don't like that either and for the most part if you pulse it a lot after it's mixed it does disappear. I could taste a bit of it though.

  16. No, I hadn't seen that before. Of course, I don't follow foodie-type stuff, so that's not surprising. Looks good.
