What's in Your Cabinet?

Do you have a display/curio cabinet? What's in it?

I thought I would share some of the items in my cabinet.

The candle my brother gave me for my birthday a few years ago. A stuffed guinea pig that my mom bought in the hospital gift shop when I ended up in the ER back in 2011 when I found out I had an irregular heartbeat. I still have an irregular heartbeat but have been told it's nothing to worry about. The picture is of my grandparents. The glass curio shelf in the back was my moms.

A fur lined vase that I inherited from my mom when she passed.

A small stained glass jewelry box.

I bought this unicorn back in 1990.

2 cat statues that have funny looks on their faces.

Another unicorn stature I bought back in 1990.

This is a glass shelf my mom had. It has a picture of my grandmother and her brother. A tiny vase, tiny salt and pepper shakers, 2 small shot glasses, a small bottle of my moms perfume and a Swarovski Crystal clam figurine.

Another little jewelry box.  These little jewelry boxes used to be really popular back in the 90's. So I have a few kinds.

  1. You have some lovely items in your cabinet.
I have crystal glasses, vases not make anymore, a Royal Doulton tea and coffee set and that's about it apart from a few more odds and ends.

  3. It's always fascinating to have a peek inside other people''s cupboards. Each item has a memory attached, and that's nice.

  4. Fur lined vase? Never seen one of those before.
Ours is full of items from our travels around the world so it's also a mix.

  5. You have some really beautiful items in your curio cabinet and then of course you have some very curious ones. That's the reason for a curio cabinet isn't it. I enjoyed the look. Those unicorns are actually very beautiful.

  8. We have one that is filled with teacups even though Sue has recently give a dozen for a good cause. She knows the story of all the cups and saucers. We also have a buffet cabinet.

  9. We had a curio cabinet that is still boxed up in the basement. We have discussed brining it out, but decided against it. Also boxed up is a large "dish pack" moving box with the stuff that was in the cabinet--mostly things from trips to other countries.

  10. I don't have a curio cabinet now, but I need one! I've got a lot of little things I've picked up on my travels that should be on display.

  11. Love all those jewelry boxes! I don't have a curio cabinet, but I do have a shelf and the top of a bookcase where I display some photos, my gargoyles from Paris, scarabs from Egypt, and my small collection of frogs. :D

  12. Thank you for sharing your very personal treasures with us! I've always been a collector. Now I am at the stage of life where I am trying to reconcile too many possessions by sharing them with others and in some cases selling them. Perhaps I will share some more of my objects in the future inspired by you. Thank you. Aloha
