You guys seemed to like the last post I did where I shared some old pictures with you so I thought I would do another one.
The little girl standing up in the back is my grandma, Mary Evans. She was my dad's mother. She's with some of her siblings and her parents, (my dad's grandparents). This picture was taken in 1905. They had several more kids after this picture was taken. The baby sitting on her mother's lap is my great Aunt Zona who is in the middle picture below.
This was taken in 1985 and is my Great Aunt Zona and her sisters Lillian and Geneve. These are my grandma's sisters.
These three ladies were my great aunts. (My grandpas sisters) They all died in a train accident before I was born. Look at that car behind them though. I love catching these old cars in pictures.
This picture was in one of my grandmas photo albums and there's no name on it but she added it to the album for a reason so I kept it. It makes me laugh because the guy reminds me of old mobsters pictures.
Another of my grandmas pictures that I kept. Take a look at that car behind them though. No idea who they are. lol
I met these two people once and went out on their boat. They were my grandmas best friends. The picture is from July 1964. Again look at that old car in the background.
The little girl sitting up front is my late husband's mother, her parents and siblings. I guess they had nothing better to do than to make babies. lol
Another of my grandmas pictures. No idea who they are but written on the picture it says, "Me and my buddy". I'm guessing they're in the Army. Take a look at the stuff in the background. Looks like something out of an old movie.
More of grandmas pictures. Maybe someone with some history knowledge will know where this truck is from. Army?
More of grandmas pictures. I'm guessing someone on a ship in the Navy took this picture of another ship near them.
Looks like the person was on a ship and took this picture too. No idea but it's a neat picture.
I found this one in my grandmas album as well. I like it because of the cars. Again it reminds me of an old movie.
I hope you liked looking at some of the old photos I have.
Wow. What riches. We have virtually no old photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteContact a war museum - they could identify the military vehicles. And all three great aunts died in a train accident? How sad.
ReplyDeleteOh that's a good idea. I wouldn't have thought of that.
DeleteMarvellous! I love old photographs.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteAh, so much fun! I love looking at old photos and thinking about the lives of the people in them.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Old photos are fun to look at.
DeleteLooking at old black and white photos like these make you think back to what our grandparents and older went through in life. In all of these they look very happy. Tragic that three had to die at the same time in a terrible train wreck of some sort.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the particulars of the train wreck since my grandpa didn't like talking about it.
DeleteLoved seeing these old photos, Mary. I find them interesting, most interesting.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteThose are great old photos of times now long gone! I enjoyed looking at them!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI also have many old photos and I wish someone had written on the back who these people are. Landmarks are helpful and I’d be doing a deep dive on the Alaska Insurance Company from that last picture.
ReplyDeleteI'll look into that.
DeleteYou have a good collection, which is a very nice thing to have.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteOver the years Hubby has inherited boxes of old photos and slides from various relatives. The vast majority of them were unidentified.
ReplyDeleteI wish someone had written something on the back of these.
Deletewhat treasures!! I have a lot of old photos of my grandmother and grandfather but not much before that.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to have.
DeleteTerrific old photos, especially the first one of your grandmother's family. I wonder what they would all think of modern life today.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't even imagine what they would think of this world today.
DeleteLove the old photos. We should have an old photo day. LOL I have some interesting photos from WW2 form my grandmas second husband. I should dig those out to see if that truck is there.
ReplyDeleteAlso check your email. I have sent you a photo.
I love the photo you sent me. Thank you so much.
DeleteWonderful to have these!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely with some old photos
ReplyDeleteI love old black-and-white photos!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing those! I have hundreds, maybe thousands of old photos. There is a bunch I have not a clue who the people are but they were passed down generations so they must be family.
ReplyDeleteOh what a great Treasure of Heirloom Photos of your Family, such a thing to Cherish and pass along. Neither sides of my Family owned Cameras so there's only a few from Mom's side and virtually none from Dad's. Thanks for Sharing, I really enjoyed this Post.
ReplyDeleteThat's a trip through time.
