This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.
Sunday night there was an ambulance down the street when I took Falcor for his last walk of the night. All you can see are the bright lights though. LOL The police were out driving around while I was out at that time as well. No idea what was going on.
---
I got a picture from my window camera of the police truck that I circled because it's hard to see in this picture. He was parked across the street for a while Sunday night. The people parked right in front of my bedroom window with their cars hood open worked on their car most of the night, yelling and screaming at each other. I ended up having to shut my window.
---
The manager put a 7 day notice on (Xavier's) the missing neighbor's door. The way it works here is he'll have 7 days to pay his rent or else he'll get a 30 day eviction notice. At the end of those 30 days the constable will come with maintenance from here and they'll change the door locks. After that they'll throw all of his stuff away and rent the apartment out again. I haven't seen any more police at his apartment and haven't seen any family or friends at his place. So most likely maintenance will go through and keep what ever of his things they want and throw the rest away. The new maintenance people have been coming with a pick up truck when they trash out an apartment and putting pretty much everything usable/sellable into the truck to either keep or sell. I have a feeling Xavier passed away somewhere but I don't think we'll ever know for sure.

ReplyDeleteJust another relaxing night of fitful sleep in your house. Ugh.
I guess you're right about Xavier, but it's odd that no one would know for sure, unless he didn't have ID with him when he...died? fell into a coma? Who knows. I hope the poor guy passed away, because in the other case, he would't have a house to come back to and anything to his name if he recovered. That's very sad either way.
Yeah it is sad no matter how this ends.
DeleteIt's thoughtful of you to wonder about this missing man. There's not a lot of people that would look around and even care. It must be hard to sleep some nights with that kind of Racket going on.
ReplyDeleteHe was a nice guy. I've talked to him quite a bit after he moved in. It's sad not knowing what might have happened to him.
DeletePeople around here are noisy.
Sad that he would just pass away somewhere and no one would ever find him or know.
ReplyDeleteIn your neighborhood, I would never open my windows...
I have a small screen on my window that I can put in and take out when the weather is nice. But I also have window locks to keep the window from being able to be opened too much.
DeleteXavier is a mystery.
ReplyDeleteIt is.
DeleteDoes this (in a way) ever bring back memories of my teen and early adult years in New York City public housing. Too bad it's a possible sad ending for the mystery of Xavier. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it is a sad end.
DeleteIt's so sad that someone can just disappear like Xavier and no-one knows what happened.
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteIt’s so sad about Xavier.
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteThat's so sad. I was hoping he would have returned by now.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that too.
DeleteYou're probably right about Xavier no longer being alive, but suspicious that his body has not been found/identified to confirm that, leaving the possibility hospitalized somewhere.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the police know for sure but when I asked they wouldn't tell me anything.
DeleteI suspect Xavier will ignore the 7 day notice and just disappear.
ReplyDeleteYes, most likely.
DeleteNever a dull moment at your Community. As for the MIA Neighbor, it's very likely something happened to him, so sad that someone can go missing and nobody really cares enuf about them to know about it tho'.
ReplyDeleteIt really is. I wish the police would have been able to tell me something.
DeleteI'm feeling a lot of sympathy for Xavier!
ReplyDeleteI am too.
DeleteSad about your neighbor. I wonder what did happen with him.
ReplyDeleteI wonder too.
DeleteHow terrible about Xavier. Putting a notice on his door isn't going to tell him anything when he's missing. I so hope he's not gone, but it sounds like he might be.
ReplyDeleteThat's the only thing I can think of too.
DeleteI'm sure if you learn more about Xavier you'll pass the information on here.
ReplyDeleteI will.
DeleteI wonder what is going on with this guy Xavier? Keep us posted, I hope he's okay.
ReplyDeleteI will if I find out anything more.
DeletePoor Xavier
ReplyDeleteI agree.
