Apartment Life #409

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.

These tiny wild flowers are popping up all over my street. After changing some things on my camera I was able to get a pretty good picture of them. They are tiny but cute.

I spotted this ugly car across the street.

What color is that? Flat periwinkle? Terrible.

Maintenance drained our pool and they're filling it in with dirt.

It took about a week, at least they put caution tape around the empty pool to warn people.

Almost filled.

Later this day they had the pool completely filled in with dirt. I guess we'll see what happens now.

If they actually do anything with this, I'll let you know.

My new neighbor that just moved in a week ago into Xavier's (missing man) apartment, already is getting complaints against him from residents. The first complaint was all the noise all night long out in the alley. He and all his friends and girlfriends stay up all night yelling and screaming at each other. The manager gave them a noise warning.

Then my daughter's best friend sent me this video she took of the guy's dog out offleash again. He has a big pitbull, which we aren't allowed to have that breed dog here per our lease.  The dog was running all over the courtyard. My friend had just gotten home and she couldn't open her door because she has 2 cats and was afraid the dog would run in her house or the cats would run out. The manager gave our friend her personal cell phone number and told her to call her if they were making noise in the alley at night again. So, she sent this video to the manager and the very next day, the manager put another notice on the guy's door.

On Wednesday I noticed one of the old spigots that still had some of the old hardware from when we had sprinklers here was turned on and broken and water was shooting 20 feet in the air.

The water was shooting up in the air and over the roof of the office. It got turned off and fixed eventually.

The high this week was 59F/15C
The low this week was 36F/2C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  1. I never saw a purple Cybertruck and never hoped to see one, but.....

Sounds like they should have put your new neighbor and his friends at the bottom of the swimming pool before filling it with dirt.

Sounds like your new management is a huge improvement. The acid test will come if the new guy keeps on making so much noise -- what will they do about it? The leashless pit bull is alarming.

    1. The new neighbor got a notice about keeping the dog on a leash and for the most part he's been on a leash since then. That car is ugly.

  2. Well you certainly had a busy week in your neighborhood. What I'm wondering is are they going to top off that swimming pool dirt with just rocks or would they be nice and actually plant something. Too bad about you new neighbor being so noisy.

    1. They were supposed to put some fake grass on the dirt over the pool for a doggie park but somehow I doubt they will.

  3. The Tesla Cybertruck is so ugly! We have a couple in our town.
Hope your neighbor gets rid of his pit bull.

  4. What a week. A terrible new neighbor, the loss of a pool and an ugly car. I am not a fan of those Tesla trucks. Why anyone would buy one I don't know.

    1. The cars were popular for a while. A status symbol I guess. Also there's an underground tunnel that you can only got through in a tesla.

  5. It is an odd looking car for sure! Oh well see what happens with the former pool! Bad neighbours suck. I am still wondering what happened to Xavier!

    1. The manager said Xavier's family still calls and asks if he's shown up.

  6. I think Tesla trucks are ugly as sin, but I actually like the unusual color of that one.

    1. Yeah, at least the homeless won't be bathing in it anymore.

  10. A dog area is a good idea and less maintenance than a pool or garden.

  11. Pretty little flowers. It would be nice if the filled-in pool could be planted and made attractive.

    1. Yeah, I have no idea what they're going to do with it.

  12. Nothing makes apartment life more hellish than an (expletive deleted) new neighbor. Let's hope management can evict them and quickly (if Nevada law permits). Also hoping something nice is done with the former swimming pool area. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  14. You can’t win with these neighbors. I’m wondering what will happen to all that dirt if you ever get a big rain?

  15. I can't imagine owning a Tesla Truck, which doesn't look like a truck and has little hauling capacity. No can I image giving Elon Musk money to buy such a vehicle.

  16. And those cybertrucks never get any better looking, even as you see them more. It's like every time I see one, they get uglier. Yikes.

  17. Love the wildflower! That truck is so ugly! Probably a boatload of money, too! At least the new managers seem to be doing something about the annoying neighbors. I guess we'll see.

  18. Lovely wildflower and nice colour.
Shame about the pool, I'd hate it if I lived there and it was filled in.
Gosh that noise must not be too good, all night. Not nice, let's hope the manager can get them to be quiet or move out.

  21. Great flower pic! And...I actually like that car's colour, you know. Problem is, the car is ugly in itself LOL.

I hope the former pool will be turned into something pretty, like a mini garden with a bench or two...it would be neat.

Wow, that was fast. How come your area seems to only attract people with no restraint?

I have no idea. People around here are so crazy.

  22. I don't understand how people think it's okay to make as much noise as possible without a grain of consideration for their neighbours. I hope you manage to get the noise down to a tolerable level.

  23. That was a good time to hide a dead body there LOL
We have first flowers like crocuses popping up too in my garden.

  24. Sorry you lost your pool. And those flowers are very cute.

  25. The Cybertruck is very ugly. A pitbull running free is a problem waiting to happen. What's wrong with people, no regards for others.
