I have a quesetion for you--we have our two rats, Matilda & Doris, in a large cage--metal bars and a plastic bottom. While we keep them well fed/watered, lots of treats, a house to sleep in and a wheel to play on, wooden munchies and even a salt roll, they have begun to eat the plastic bottom of the cage.
