A To Z Blogging Challenge: J Is For Jerboa
There are several types of Jerboa's. This is an Egyptian Jerboa. If you've never seen these little creatures you are in for a treat.
When I first saw this video I thought it was fake. I thought, how in the world did I not know about this tiny cute animal? He just doesn't look real, does he? This is the Pygmy Jerboa, the smallest rodent in the world. Of course when I found out about this tiny cutie I had to tell others about this little animal so I wrote an article that you can find here.
There's also the Long Eared Jerboa. Their long ears are so cute. In this video he eats a live meal worm, so if that bothers you, don't watch the video.
I don't know anyone who has a Jerboa as a pet, but I think they are pretty cute and if I had a home big enough with enough room for them to run around, I would probably adopt one. They are pretty cute.
They are cute and look at them hop wow, first time I ever heard of them too.
ReplyDeleteWow they are adorable!! I had never even heard of these until just now.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. The cuteness. I think I've seen a clip of the pygmy one before. He really doesn't look real. Amazing. And wow the energy of the first one. lol How funny!

herding cats & burning soup
huh, they do look like unlikely beasties, as if they wandered off a sci-fi set.
ReplyDeletePat, glad you enjoyed the videos.
ReplyDeleteOptimistic Existentialist, I just love these little critters. They are so cute.
Anna, Yeah the pygmy one is the one most people have seen. Glad you enjoyed the videos.
Pearl, Yeah they do, don't they.
The Egyptian Jerboa reminds me of a North American Kangaroo Rat. Cute little critters.

That is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. I had heard of these; we call them Kangaroo Rats. I'd never seen the long-eared one though. Wow, that's cute. I'm having a squeeeeeee moment! :)
