My Review
I've started eating healthier about 6 months ago when I found out I had diabetes. So fruits and vegetables became a large part of my life. I never really thought about how much of the strawberry I was wasting when I cut the tops off of them but I really was throwing away some tasty bits and now I don't have to. This strawberry huller makes getting the stems off of the strawberry so much easier and it works so fast. I hardly have to even work do get the stems out. Just press the plunger, stab the strawberry and let the plunger go, twist and it grabs the stem and removes it. It's so easy to use and a lot less messy than cutting the tops off of several strawberries on the counter plus I'm not wasting so much of the top of the strawberry anymore. This works great.
It says that this can be used to take the core out of tomatoes as well so I'll definitely be trying that.
Disclaimer: I was given a free product in exchange for my honest review.
This is a great idea and wish I would have had it yesterday when making shortcake for anniversary dinner. (lol) Going to have to grab this for sure. Thanks for the post! Hugs...
ReplyDeleteI usually cut off so much of the strawberry, what a waste.
DeleteThe tool looks pretty big for the size of strawberries we get around here. Glad it worked well for you!
ReplyDeleteThe thing is when you press the plunger you an press it all the way for big ones or just a little for small strawberries.
DeleteSave on wasting the strawberries, a good thing indeed
ReplyDeleteNothing worst than wasting fruit.
DeleteI just cut them off
ReplyDeleteThat's what I had been doing too.
DeleteThis sure sounds handy, I usually cut the top off if I eat strawberries. I do try not to cut away the strawberry, but ofcourse a small piece still get's lost. I also sounds like this takes less time as well.
ReplyDeleteThis was really easy to use.
DeleteOMG, don't kill me, I need sleep, but at first glance, I thought this was a "toy"! LOL
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had diabetes. Have you heard of bitter melon tea/vegetable? It's really effective in terms of regulating blood sugar levels. Diabetes runs in my family too, we got a rabid kind (amputations, loss of eyesight, renal failure, heart disease, you name it!). I eat as much of it as I can as a preventative measure.
Bwahahaha omg that is too funny.
DeleteI haven't heard of using bitter melon for that but my doc put me on Victoza and that seems to be keeping my blood sugar levels lower for now.
My mother-in-law would love this gadget. She has issues with pain in her hand. Adding to my Christmas shopping list.
ReplyDeleteI love finding new helpful kitchen gadgets. This will work loads better than hulling strawberries with the tip of my potato peeler.
