Product Description
Himalayan salt lamp emits number of negative ions into surrounding atmosphere when it is heated by an external source of electric or candles. The heat produced from the lamp breaks down Na CL Sodium Chloride in a process called ionization. This process is enhanced by natural process of NACL and resulting in producing of negative ions which eliminate the positive ions which are present in our surroundings produced from Computers, refrigerators, T.V sets and etc. Thus these lamps make the air clean, fresh and healthy to live in. Natural Salt is found in ancient evaporated sea beds underneath great mountain masses, such as the Himalayas, where it has been compressed over time to form solid salt rock, with all the minerals structurally intact.
My Review
I love this lamp, it's bigger than I thought it would be and it's so pretty and relaxing when I turn it on. I don't know about any health benefits and don't know if I even believe that but it's such a great conversation piece and such a pretty lamp to have in any room.
Now there was just one thing that I have to complain about. I really loved that this had an on/off switch on the cord but when I went to use it to turn it off..it wouldn't work. I tried several times and it works sporadically. Maybe once out of every 10 times I try to turn it off will it actually work, so that's why I'm not giving this 5 stars. I don't know if they try the switches out before they ship them out but this one doesn't work.
It comes with two bulbs, the salt rocks, basket and the cord. It has enough salt rocks to completely fill the basket and when the light is on the rocks give off a really pretty light orange light.
Disclosure: I was given this product at a discount but all opinions are my own.
I give this lamp 4 out of 5 stars.
It does make for a very pretty and unique lamp. There are actually several different kinds and some are made with one large piece of salt rock. I kind of liked the basket with the smaller salt rocks though. If you'd like one, you can find this one here.
Oh that's really pretty! Too bad on the switch being hit or miss. Still pretty though :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, the switch being broke sucks but at least I can plug it in and it still works great.
DeleteIt is pretty, and the light looks very subtle.
ReplyDeleteThe light is subtle and it's really nice looking in person.
DeleteThat is a neat idea, sucks the switch is a pain though.
ReplyDeleteYeah it really does.
DeleteI have a spherical salt lamp from the same company. The socket for the bulb was broken! They sent me a new one, but it stinks to see all the problems people are having with those darn cords!
ReplyDeleteOh that's good that they replaced it for you. If something like that had been broken on mine I probably would have asked for a replacement too. I do love this lamp though, it sure is pretty.
DeleteIt looks like a pretty and unique lamp. It's a shame about the switch not working though, but besides that it sounds like a great lamp.
ReplyDeleteYeah the only thing that is wrong is that switch but I love the lamp itself.
DeleteIt does look pretty. I wonder if you got a faulty piece or of it is a design flaw? I might end up breaking the thing from continuous pulling... Or yanking! Lol
ReplyDeleteNot sure. A few others have had other problems with these lamps too.
DeleteThe science of it is a bit much, but pretty!
ReplyDeleteI agree on both counts.
Deletethat looks neat
ReplyDeleteThanks, I really like it.
DeleteWhether it works on the ions or not, at least you got a nice relaxing lamp. And so unique.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the ions but I do like the lamp.
DeleteI'm not sure that I would have noticed this at a store, but it's really creative and lovely. I can see myself curling up on the couch with the lamp and a really good book. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThere are a bunch of different designs for these things too. The one large salt rock lamp is really neat too.
DeleteIt does look neat and I was wondering about using candles in it. As for negative ions, I'm not sure I need anything more that's negative in my life ;)
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think it would work with candles.
DeleteIt really is pretty. As to whether it works or not I am a skeptic like you..but would love to have it in my family room.
ReplyDeleteI love it and there are so many designs to choose from.
