I've said before that living in the desert is strange from where I grew up in California because there aren't as many tree's, grass or foliage as there was in California when I was little. But we do have an interesting landscape for sure. These 3 pictures were taken out at Red Rock Las Vegas. And as you can see some of those rocks and mountains out there are red.
It's a desert landscape so if you visit there you aren't going to see a lot of big tree's like you'd see in the mountains but there are some small bushes and cactus.
Because it gets so hot here in the summer 117F I never liked going hiking in the summer but it's nice to pick a trail in the fall or Winter months and take a hike.
Ohhh pretty
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteUnfortunately, it really was 117 degrees last time I was there. It would be nice to visit during the winter months.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's just too hot to be out in the summers.
DeleteBeautiful pics Mary thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome.
DeleteI'd only visit in winter that's for sure
ReplyDeleteThat's the best time to go.
DeleteWinter is our active season too since we live in FL. There's no way I'm hiking int he summer here! lol
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Mary!

DeleteGorgeous pictures Mary! Thanks so much for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome.
DeleteWow, such beautiful scenery! I have never traveled to that part of the US. Perhaps I will one day.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice, different but nice.
DeleteI'd rather visit in the winter to see, 117 would make me flee.
ReplyDeleteIt's brain boiling hot. lol
DeleteIt sure is quite pretty there!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It sure can be.
DeleteI would love to walk the trails in Fall and Winter.
ReplyDeleteThat's the best time to come.
DeleteYeah, I'd say hiking in 117 degree weather is not a good idea. LOL Beautiful area though.
ReplyDeletelol Yep, too hot but some people do it.
DeleteSo pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteSuch wonderful red colors. I've got pictures from Utah like that. And yes, I am not a heat person so I would be a winter trail walker if I lived down that way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these!
Winter is the best time for hiking here for sure.
DeleteSo gorgeous. I'm with Sophia and have some pics of Utah that are similar. I do like my trees, though. lol Amazing how different landscape is from one side of the country to the other.
ReplyDeleteIt really is. I miss all the different tree's in California.
DeleteVery pretty, Mary!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteLovely to see these photographs, thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Wishes
All the best Jan
Thank you.
DeleteIt's pretty! Although in a very different way from other landscapes. I never lived in a place like that, so it's hard to imagine having no trees around.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot different from other places I've lived too. Interesting but different.
DeleteSo pretty and so different from where I live!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
