This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 20 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 20 years here in a weekly blog post.
If we're friends on FB you might remember me posting about this one.
Back in April of 2016 Ken was taking the dog for a walk and I heard my BBQ make a sound like someone was closing it. So as I was coming out of the bathroom I see a guy in an orange t-shirt walk away from my bbq. So a couple of minutes go by and as Ken walks up with the dog, I tell him to open the bbq that some guy just put something in it. He opens it right as the cops are coming up the sidewalk from a domestic disturbance call, he puts his hands up and says, "Hey hey you guys need to look in there." Ken said that I just told him to look in there because some guy put something in there and I finally see what Ken is freaking out about. That asshole put a damn gun in my bbq!
There had been a domestic fight a few minutes earlier and that's why the cops were here and some idiot decided to hide his gun in my bbq. So this flipping idiot walks back up as the cops are looking at the gun and I tell them that he's the guy that put the gun in my bbq. So he got arrested and we waited 2 hours for the investigators to come talk to us but the police said since the guy confessed we didn't have to give a statement.
I don't have any pictures this time because it was 10PM and I actually didn't think to take any pictures with everything that was going on that night and the police coming and going from my apartment asking questions. When I told my dad the next day about what happened, he was more upset that I didn't get the gun for him. LOL Crazy man, I'm not giving my 85 year old father a gun that is most likely stolen.
The fun never stops around here.
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
Oh man! You do have the oddest things happen around you, Mary. Good thing you heard the lid open and could tell Ken about the gun when the police could deal with it.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe the idiot came back for it.
Deletelol at your father's want for it.
ReplyDeleteSome weird crap sure goes on there. Nutballs hiding guns is just what you need.
My dad is a character.
Deletewow that's crazy
ReplyDeleteThe crazy is serious where I live. lol
DeleteWow! Good catch, Mary! Can you imagine Ken going out there to put some meat on the grill and finding that?
ReplyDeleteThat would have been a shocker.
DeleteYikes, BBQ ribs would be much better!
ReplyDeleteThey sure would.
DeleteI would imagine the heat could have made the gun fire off on accident. You'd think a trash can or just throwing it into a field would have solved that
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it would have.
DeleteThat is some craziness there! I wonder what made him come back for it and confess.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he realized that the police were still here or that anyone had seen him stash his gun.
DeleteTotally crazy! This would have freaked me out.
ReplyDeleteOh when I saw what it was I was freaked.
DeleteLol, that's insane. At least he confessed so you didn't have to do anything further.
ReplyDeleteYeah at least that happened.
DeleteThat could've gotten really scary if you started the grill with that gun in there. Glad everything worked out.

It's a charcoal grill so at least we would have seen it before lighting the fire.
DeleteYeah, no good idea taking that gun
ReplyDeleteOh no. It sure wasn't.
DeleteOh my goodness! That is crazy. I am glad you didn't have to give a statement and the guy confessed to it being his gun. :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
it was a crazy night for sure.
DeleteOh, my! That must have been so scary! Imagine if you hadn't actually seen him putting it in...
ReplyDeleteI know. He probably would have come back and got it.
DeleteThat was so crazy and scary!
ReplyDeleteMy neighborhood is nuts.
DeleteScary stuff, Mary! I am glad that you stayed safe and he confessed but that would have been very scary and stressful.
ReplyDeleteI was only stressed out thinking that I would have to testify against him.
DeleteWhat a dumbass! and pretty scary if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteHe was a total dumbass. he almost got away but he had to come back.
DeleteSounds like a scary place to live. I'm glad it was settled relatively peacefully!
ReplyDeleteI am too.
DeleteOh my goodness. That is both crazy and extremely scary.
ReplyDeleteLiving here is definitely an adventure.
DeleteDamn, your place scares me!
ReplyDeleteIt changes all the time because of who moves in or out too.
DeleteWow never a dull moment in your complex!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah it's interesting around here.
DeleteLOL people are just crazy. Good they were there and things got handled at least.
ReplyDeleteIt was lucky the police were just walking through.
