So as you can probably guess from the pictures...it's bug day again! When I find a new bug outside or in my apartment I like to take a picture of it before I take it back outside. So far none of them have bitten or stung me and doing this has actually helped me get over my fear of insects...for the most part. Bee's still scare the bejuju's outta me so I won't be handling any of those hell beasts anytime soon.
Anyway, Ken found this one in the bedroom and called me in to save it. lol I couldn't tell what it was even with my glasses on because it was so small.
But it didn't bite or sting me so I was happy about that. I figured it was some sort of beetle or something.
It wasn't until I enlarged this picture that I could see it was actually a baby stink bug. Good thing it didn't get frightened because they put out a really bad smell if you scare them or bug them too much. And as you can see, he was looking up at me while I was taking his picture as if to say, "I smiled for your picture, now can you take me outside?"
The next day I found this little spider on my desk sitting right next to my phone. I picked him up after taking his picture and put him outside as well. It cracked me up because when I tried to get him to crawl onto my hand, he scrunched himself up, pulling his legs in really tight to make himself smaller. But he did finally crawl on my hand so I could get him outside.
The day after I found the spider I found this beetle. I usually see them when they are tiny so I didn't know they got this big. I found this guy in the bathroom while I was cleaning. He went outside as well.
I also wanted to let you know that I'm a guest reviewer on I Smell Sheep! I reviewed Dark Sentinel by Christine Feehan.
I hope you'll stop over there and read my review.
Hooray for someone else who escorts the little critters outside. Spiders I pick up with a piece of paper and a glass usually.
ReplyDeleteOff to read your review.
The only bug I don't like are bee's but they don't end up in my apartment too often. I take everything else outside.
DeleteKudos to you for having the patience and taking the time to photograph bugs!
ReplyDeleteI just want them out and never in.
Bees are dangerous, and unfortunately, they tend to pick me as a victim.
I find them fascinating and see no need to kill them. I just take them outside if I can catch them.
DeleteGlad he didn't stink up and enjoyed his ride outside.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad too. lol
DeleteLOL Bugs are frightened to come into our house since hubby works in pest control.
ReplyDeleteYou're hilarious.
DeleteGirl, no way!(lol) Kudos to you for your courage! Hugs...RO
ReplyDeleteLOL You're so funny.
DeleteAs many stink bugs as we get, I'm surprised I've never noticed a baby. I can't detect their odor at all.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had one stink up the place but I hear it's not good.
Deleteewwww :)
ReplyDeletelol
Deletenot for me
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI've never seen a baby stink bug, but we get stink bugs galore every spring. I've never smelled them unless I pick them up to move them back outside and they spray my hands. Smells awful!
ReplyDeleteI haven't smelled one yet.
DeleteGood for you that you catch and release. I do as well. Not the bug's fault he ended up in my house.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Glad I'm not the only one.
DeleteWe love up in a mountain and we have our fair share bugs. I'm not a bug person at all. 😕
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a long time ago.
DeleteUgh! Away away!
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteI rescue them, but I still haven't worked up the nerve to pick them up. Neat how you can tell what they are.
ReplyDeleteI let a moth out just yesterday and he gave me a heck of a time catching him without hurting his wings. LOL
Oh yeah moths are tricky. They are fast.
DeleteOh no, we have stink bugs here in the South and they sure do!
ReplyDeletelol I haven't smelled one yet.
Delete*shudders* Not thanks. Living in FL, if I see a bug in my house, it dies and the exterminator is called. It only takes a few of them to signal an infestation.
ReplyDeleteUnderstandable.
DeleteI think it is so nice you take them outside. My husband does that too. Me....I scream and jump up on the furniture or vacate the room.
ReplyDeleteKen even calls me into the other room to catch them when he sees one. lol
DeleteI try to save bugs by taking them outside too. I saw an interesting one at work the other day that I should have taken a pic of.
ReplyDeleteI like taking pictures of unique ones.
DeleteEven as a vegetarian, I have very little concern for bugs. Considering their lifespan, I only made the clock turn forward a little bit.
ReplyDeleteI just can't see killing something for no reason.
DeleteI see you live in Las Vegas. What happens if a scorpion gets inside your house? Just curious! I've had some encounters here in Florida with some crawlie things that were really creepy. A few years ago, we got over run by some kind of large spiders that kept thinking they lived inside my house. I begged to differ with them on that account. They made my youngest son (30 something) squeal like a little girl. It was quite funny until I had a few decide to come live in my bedroom. The other day a lady bug landed on my computer and crawled around for the longest time before leaving to explore other places. I had better run along now before I start rambling on about every insect I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI've lived here about 30 years and in all that time I've only seen one scorpion. It was in my makeup bag just sitting on top. I caught it, showed him off to everyone in the house and then put him outside. I held him in a glass, I did not pick him up with my bare hands. lol
DeleteHate bugs and have two cats that usually take care of them for me. Love Feehan!
ReplyDeleteMy dog just plays with the crickets that get inside.
DeleteI don't mind bugs or spiders, I try to catch them in a glass and carefully put them back outside.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
If I think they bite, I use a glass too.
DeleteI don't really mind bugs, but usually just squash them. Although I sometimes bring them outside. We've had some moths inside that I brought outside.
ReplyDeleteMoths are nice. I take them out too.
DeleteWe get the stink bugs a lot here. I call them flat bugs and refer to them as my minions lol I think they're cute but they can get a little obnoxious at times. They usually don't emit their odor unless they feel threatened though. Thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteI haven't smelled one yet.
