This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 20 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 20 years here in a weekly blog post.
2 years ago I had a new neighbor and he had 3 little dogs. He didn't walk very fast because his legs and feet were terribly swollen so when one of his dogs ran out and he tried to call him back and it didn't work he started yelling, "Hamburger! Chicken nuggets! Din din! C'mon, I'll feed you something extra good if you'll just come back. Treat!"
Treat was the word that finally got the dogs to run back in his apartment. LOL
I remember laughing so much because it happened a lot while he was there.
Nothing crazy happened this week, which was nice so let's hope it stays quiet for a while.
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
Laughing is good, smiling too. Dogs and cats do this to us often, and we're grateful for that.
ReplyDeleteThat's true.
DeleteI suspect 'TREAT' would work on a number of dogs - and some people.
ReplyDeleteHooray for a quiet week.
I know it would work on Falcor for sure.
DeleteI would certainly be tempted with the word treat too, Marvelous Mary!(lol) Hugs...RO
ReplyDeleteI can see myself coming back for one as well. lol
DeleteStaying quiet at your spot sure is a win. haha treat seems to be the go to word.
ReplyDeletenice and quiet. I was actually surprised.
DeleteI had a dog that as he got old started to go blind and had some difficulty hearing. When he would hear you calling him, he couldn't tell which direction the call came from, so he just went faster in whatever direction he was pointed. It was hard for me to stop calling him.

DeleteA quiet week is good!
ReplyDeleteit sure is.
DeleteTreat always worked on my kids!
ReplyDeleteOh I bet it would work on most.
Deletelol I would have laugh a lot too
ReplyDeleteHe sounded so desperate. It was so funny.
DeleteWOW, I hope you enjoy the quiet times too!
ReplyDeleteI sure do.
DeleteThat story about the dog is so funny, you can picture it real well.
ReplyDeleteIt was hilarious when it was happening.

Thank you.
DeleteGlad it was a good week for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI sort of feel sorry for the guy since I have some mobility issues. But you know, TRAIN YOUR DAMN DOG or don't get one!!
ReplyDeleteMy parents have an untrained dog, too. She has actually trained them... they feed her from the table and then complain, "I wish she wouldn't beg at the table." LOL
Right? We have a small apartment but I trained Falcor to 'come', "Sit", 'in' and 'treat'. He could have just had the dogs on long retractable leashes at the door too but he'd rather scream for the dogs. lol
DeleteNow that's a funny story. I bet the word treat is universally known to dogs. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I bet it is.
DeleteTreats don't work if my dogs get out. However, if I drive the car around with the back door open, they'll jump in when I stop. I just have to be quick enough to close it before they jump back out. They know we get in the car to go to fun places, and they don't want to miss out! ;)

Oh that's funny.
DeleteA calm week! Wow, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was surprised too.
DeleteOMG 😂 😂 😂 that's super funny!
ReplyDeleteGenesis @ Whispering Chapters
Thanks, I was laughing so much when it happened.
DeleteThat was a smart dog! He used operant conditioning on your neighbor.
ReplyDeleteAll three of them were smart, they knew what they were doing and it was funny to watch.
DeleteIf it works why not.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteToo cute, we all have magic words..even dogs. If you say coffee I will come running!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny.
DeleteLOL whatever works, right? :snort:
ReplyDeleteit sure did work.
DeleteGlad your weekend was tame.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteYay for a peaceful week!
ReplyDeleteI was happy.
DeleteWe used to do that with our dog. She'd get out and we'd desperately run around yelling, "Treatie, treat, treat!" It worked best if we had a spoonful of peanut butter in our hand. LOL!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
lmao I bet that would work with my dog too.
DeleteI'm not a fan of untrained dogs. Our neighbour's dog barks non stop all day and it drives me mad!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah that would drive me nuts too.
DeleteThat's nice that nothing crazy happened at your apartment complex this week for a change. That's a funny story about that guy with his dogs.
