This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 21 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 21 years here in a weekly blog post.
This week an ambulance and fire truck showed up at the same time for someone across the street.
They got all gowned up and went inside one of the apartments across the street. They were there for about 30 minutes and then they left. It was pretty uneventful and no one was taken out in a stretcher so I am guessing it was no big deal.
There's a guy that moved in with his mother across from my apartment and he's started selling a lot of marijuana. I know this because he's telling everyone he runs into that he's selling and to come to him if they need any. He asked Ken if he knew where he could get some white (cocaine) and Ken told him he didn't know. So now there's another drug dealer in my courtyard. Just great.

ReplyDeleteI mean...he's not even pretending? How come everyone in your courtyard commits felonies and no one does a thing (apart from sending patrol police cars now and then, that is)?
Oh it's not just my courtyard, it's practically the entire block. If I called the police to turn him in, I would have to write out a voluntary statement and testify in court against him. With him having so many druggie friends around here now...I wouldn't be safe if I did that. That's the only way the cops will help.
DeleteSigh. I hope his lack of concealment means that he doesn't stay in business for long and is shut down by the authorities.

DeleteYou guys still don't have legal marijuana dispensaries? Up here they're all over the place. So we never have sleazy guys selling the stuff out of apartments.

DeleteWhat Roberta said. The police cars come and go but there don't seem to be many arrests. Why are the police so lax?

DeleteThere once was this guy who either was stupid or had more nerve that one could shake a stick up. Would go into public places and announce he had cocaine for sale.

ReplyDeletewho have been living next door for a couple of years moved out and the new people are quiet. I wish the yahoos kitty-corner across the street would move, too. Ha ha. 😛
It's a lot quieter around here than it was a couple of years ago.
DeleteThe law is an ass, as they say. I fully get why it wouldn't be safe to grass this guy up and in your position I'd do the same. It does make you wonder why we pay our taxes though when cops don't do much to help!

DeleteMy first thought whenever no one gets taken away on a stretcher after a paramedic visit is that the person didn't want the hefty ambulance bill. I know I wouldn't! I am glad the fire department was able to resolve whatever the situation was.
