This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.
I heard the police helicopter flying low around my apartment complex and looked outside and sure enough the police were on my block. The police had someone in handcuffs down the street who was arrested but I saw her back around here the next day.
She had her boyfriend arrested for hitting her a couple of weeks ago and he was in jail for a week before getting back out. These two are always arguing and fighting around here. She would be better off leaving him but I don't see that happening any time soon.
I did happen to get a blurry picture of the police helicopter that was flying around my apartment complex at the same time.
The high this week was 80F/26C
The low this week was 52F/11C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
It seems a bit of a waste of everyone's time to arrest someone and let them out the next day...
ReplyDeleteYeah it really does.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteSo, to review, you have your peace disturbed by the droning of a helicopter overhead and the sound of that dysfunctional couple fighting and arguing. They take turns getting arrested and released into each other's custody.
And the beat goes on...
Have a safe and happy Halloween and a good week ahead, dear friend Mary!
Yep, exactly.
DeleteAll these people who are arrested, back out, and never go to jail - do they never go to trial?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea.
DeleteThis kind of dysfunctional shit happens way more than it should. Some people never learn, or just can't change. Trying to catch up on your Apartment Hell posts. Been off for a bit. Happy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteIt seems into happen all the time.
DeleteA quiet week for you!
ReplyDeleteYeah, pretty much. lol
DeleteLots of helecopters in your area it seems. I wonder if anyone has ever shot a flare towards one, seems your neighbors would be up to something crazy like that. An SOS seems to be a constant in your neck of the woods. They need to create a Netflix series.
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I know people have pointed their lasers at them and gotten into trouble for it.
DeleteIt looks like a love-hate relationship between the two of them, or maybe a drug dependence of some kind.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it sadly disturbs the peace of innocent residents.
Definitely drugs are involved.
DeleteIt sounds like they are auditioning for a really bad reality show!
ReplyDeleteYeah it does. lol
DeleteI agree with Elephant Child about it being a waste to catch and release. If a disturbance between the two gets to be too regular, I suspect the cops will stop responding. Some couples play this dance right up to a horrible ending, rather than walk away before that happens. Crazy stuff.
ReplyDeleteit's been going on for years already.
DeleteMaybe police Officers who arrest them dont enjoy to that arrest process. Happy November Dear Mary!
ReplyDeleteIt's their job. But people are not held for long it seems unless they commit a felony and someone will press charges. The other party usually drops the charges or won't testify so there's not much the police can do.
DeleteIt's sad how often women stay with men who hit them. Hope you have a good week this week, Mary!
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteIt doesn't seem to improve weekly. Maybe a new couple will audition for the mad couple role. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's new people moving into the neighborhood all the time.
DeleteSome people have more of sad life and others.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Truth.
DeleteWhere I used to live helicopters overhead was a daily thing. Never did get used to them.
ReplyDeleteDon't understand why people who fight all the time stay together.
It makes no sense to me either.
DeleteIt's like a revolving door sometimes when people get arrested and then are back out. And I imagine the helicopter overhead keeps things interesting!
ReplyDeleteThe helicopter is usually a sign to look outside.
DeleteAt this point I think I'd be more shocked if nothing at all happened at your apartment... least the temperature is slowly coming down!
ReplyDeleteI would be shocked as well. Hopefully the temps will come down more soon.
DeleteHearing the helicopter so close, sounds like it would be scary.
ReplyDeleteI'm so used to it now, I don't really pay it much attention.
DeleteScary neighbors. At least the weather was nice temperatures this week.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it being even cooler.
DeleteThey don't sound like the example of embracing a healthy relationship do they?
ReplyDeleteAnother week for the crazy
Not at all but I'm sure drugs are a problem with them.
DeleteSome people never learn. The fight, get beaten yet get back together. Toxic relationships.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is.
DeleteIt's always a shame when you see people in terrible relationships and they just can't seem to get themselves out.
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I'm surprised they are still around here. It's been years that I've seen them doing this.
DeleteIt does sound like they're doing this game where they get arrested in turns LOL. Seriously though, what good is it to put someone in jail and release them after a day or two? I hope that woman will finally get rid of her abuser, but most of the times, that kind of man just goes back and abuse his victim again - or worse.
ReplyDeleteI see people arrested and out the next day all the time around here. When they should be in jail for a while.
DeleteI guess toxic couples find it hard to part ways. So sad.
ReplyDeleteYeah more often than not that's the case.
DeleteYour lowest temp was our highest
ReplyDeleteOh wow. It will get colder here soon.
DeleteI will never understand why couples want to stay together if all they ever do is fight. Sorry they are ruining your peace and quiet there!
ReplyDeleteDrugs for these two. I think it's all about the drugs.
DeleteI don't get the whole fight and make up cycle. Some people seem to like drama.
ReplyDeleteSome people thrive on drama.
DeleteThat was quick work - arrested, jailed and released in two weeks. In the UK it would be more like weeks or months. Domestic violence still isn't taken seriously enough.
ReplyDeleteI think our jails are overflowing right now and they let out people too easily.
DeleteIt's the same with the people who live nextdoor to me. I don't think I've ever heard them speak civilly to each other. They don't have any kids, so I don't get it. 😛
ReplyDeleteThat's so weird. I don't get it either.
