This week I thought I would share some of the things I saw while I was out on a walks with Falcor.
That Pine tree is actually in my courtyard. When I first moved here 25 years ago, it was shorter than the top of the roof. Now it's so tall.
Then I realized while I was taking that Pine Tree picture that the clouds in the background looked kinda cool. That tan building is my apartment building. I've been told it looks like prison housing. lol
Someone left a note on a piece of cardboard on a light pole that said, "Kindness & courtesy were the masters style."
There has been a lot of road construction going on my street this past week. They have been starting at 6am, so I've been getting up early. They dug up the ground right around the corner to the left.
Someone had an inflatable bouncy house in their backyard for a couple of days. Sounded like they were having a fun party. The kids sure were having fun.
A message from "the master" to all the loonies your area has to put up with, perhaps?
ReplyDeletePeople probably think the apartment building looks like a prison because the windows are so small and high up. That's unusual for an apartment building, but since it seems to be set right on the sidewalk with no open ground in between, if you had regular big windows you'd constantly have pedestrians looking right at you from from the outside just a couple of feet away.
I don't know who the master is or who wrote that but it seemed like some kind of message.
DeleteActually, looking at the full-size version of the photo, I see there's some space between the sidewalk and the building, but not much. Based on the size of the bicycle, the windows at least seem high enough that it would be hard for a person outside to look in.
ReplyDeleteYeah there is a little space between the windows and the sidewalk. And you do have to be taller than me to be able to walk up to the windows and see in really well. At least that's something.
DeleteI really like that sign - and your tree. And do hope that blogger allows my comment this time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like blogger allowed your comment.
DeleteThat sign is hilarious to me. Nice handwriting! Lol!
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't know why someone left it there but I thought it was funny too.
DeleteIt does always look like a prison LOL
ReplyDeleteWill you manage to move away from there soon? I remember you mentioned moving.
I know it does. Even one of Ken's physical therapists said that. lol
DeleteI wanted to when the price went up but the other apartment complexes raised their rent as well so this is still a cheap place for rent right now.
I wish that bouncy house had been around when I was a kid in the 70s. I hope that you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteRight? Me too.
DeleteWe could certainly do with a bit more kindness and courtesy. The Master has the right idea.
ReplyDeleteThat's true.
DeleteThat first photo with the tree sure is pretty. I'll bet those kids had a big time bouncing around!
ReplyDeleteThey sure sounded like they were having a good time.
DeleteIt's nice. I would have loved to have an inflatable bouncy house like that when I was young
ReplyDeleteI would have too.
DeleteFor some reason, my post didn't post... I was wondering what kind of pine that was, thinking it would need a lot of water to grow in Vegas, as pines in the high desert are generally only found above 4500 feet. I like the sign!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what kind of Pine it is but they hardly ever get watered and only one of them has died.
DeleteKindness and courtesy- so disgustingly lacking these days. Say, do they make bouncy houses for adults? Just a thought. Happy Thanksgiving, Mary.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving. I hope you had a good one. A bouncy house for adults would be fun.
DeleteI hope the "master's style" inspires someone in your area to do better LOL.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteLovely pine tree! Lots of road construction, everywhere!
ReplyDeleteWhat for? Aren't they going to reduce car traffic as demanded by climate change?
Reduce traffic? No, that's never going to happen.
DeleteI love that pine tree. And yes, the clouds are cool. 🌲☁☁☁
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! 🥧✨
Thank you, I'm glad you liked the picture. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
DeleteI like that sky
