This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.
I looked out my bedroom window and spotted a police car and a fire truck a little further down the street. You can just make out the fire truck on the left side of the picture.
The I saw the fire department ambulance headed down that way as well. I have no idea what was going on that day though since it was down the street a little ways. My phone camera is just awful but I didn't have enough time to open my window to get a better picture. I'll have to make sure to open the window from now on. Taking pictures through the window creates this glare.
---
On Friday the ambulance showed up for someone in my apartment complex and they were taken to the hospital. But at least there were no police that day.
---
On Thursday there was a shooting just down the street from where I live. Here's the news report on what happened.
---
The high this week was 93F/33C
The low this week was 58F/14C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
"On Friday the ambulance showed up for someone in my apartment complex and they were taken to the hospital. But at least there were no police that day."
ReplyDeleteProbably just a "routine" pick-up for a change...That shooting though 😯.
Probably. Yeah that shooting was sad.
DeleteAn ambulance without police has to be a good thing - and I hope the person is doing well.
ReplyDeleteThat shooting? Shudder.
Stay safe please.
I have no idea about the ambulance. The shooting was bad.
DeleteI’ve been seeing a lot of ambulances around here, too.
ReplyDeleteSummer time I see a lot more stuff happening.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteIt must be comforting to know that if you ever need a cop, a fire truck or an ambulance, chances are you can find one (or all three) in seconds right outside your window.
It's alarming to read about that brazen shooting in broad daylight in the middle of a busy Vegas street. If the victim wouldn't have tripped over the median, he might have been able to run away.
Thanks for the report, dear friend Mary. I wish you and my buddy Falcor a safe and happy week ahead!
Shootings like that happen frequently in Vegas. Most times it's at night and not right out in the open like that though,.
DeleteAt least the shooting wasn't right there in your complex. You've had too many of those.
ReplyDeleteIt was close but not right here. I hope we don't have another one around here anytime soon.
DeleteSorry to hear about the shooting. Its been somewhat quiet in my neck of the woods. But I have had some interesting chats with clients about 911, and one woman that insists her gas station doesn't have nearly the violence that others have in the Twin Cities.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the violence is just about everywhere now.
DeleteSad that arguments now days end in gun violence and death. Hope they catch the A-hole.
ReplyDeleteit is sad that it happens.
DeleteThat's scary! I don't know how you walk outside every day.
ReplyDeleteit can be scary to do around here.
Deleteand the beat goes on! :)
ReplyDeleteYep.
DeleteHopefully your neighbor's health will be okay. Bummer about the shooting. We just had the police come around a few times to deal with our neighbors not keeping their pit bull on a lead or inside their fence.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, Mary!
I hate when dog owners don't keep their dogs on a leash on in control. My neighbor has been walking her 2 pit bulls on a leash recently after I called animal control on her,
DeletePolice cars, fire trucks and ambulances...oh, my! ;D
ReplyDeleteThat about sums up my week. Lol
DeleteAlways 🚔 in your neighborhood
ReplyDeleteYep, all the time.
DeleteWow it's getting really hot there. I'm glad we are still a bit cooler.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
Soon it's going g to be so hot.
DeleteEverything being down the street a bit is a good day in your neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThat's true.
DeleteWow, a lot going on and not in a good way. I hope you're careful and keeping safe.
ReplyDeleteAlways. I carry a stun gun.
DeleteOh my gosh. I just read the news article on the shooting. That's so crazy and scary. I mean, in the middle of the day, during rush hour at a busy intersection?!?!?! Goodness. I would have nightmares if I was one of the people who witnessed the guy being chased and gunned down. :(
ReplyDeleteYeah, I probably would too.
DeleteWe got up to 60 today.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
it got up to 90 some of the week.
DeleteUnfortunately the news report isn't available in the UK, but just hearing there was a shooting is a bit scary.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I didn't realize that would happen.
DeleteNever a dull moment!
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
All the best Jan
Not around here.
DeleteThere was a shooting right down the street my office this past week. I should have gotten a photo of the police cars and tape blocking off the street, but I didn't think about it at the time. There's a lot of that going around lately, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI'm always ready with my phone even if it takes horrible pictures. Sounds like that was scary for you too.
DeleteThe shootings are getting out of hand around here. We get the trash spilling over from Chicago. They are migrating this way and I swear it's like every couple of hours on the scanner police are being called for shots fired.
ReplyDeleteI hope whoever was taken away in the ambulance is ok.
The crime here is coming from California. it's migrating all over.
DeleteCray times
ReplyDeleteit is.
DeleteStay safe. 😑
