This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.
On Monday I just happened to look out my bedroom window when I saw several police cars going around the corner and into the alley for the apartment complex across the street from me. This was the only police car I was fast enough to open my window and get a picture of though. The police were across the street and I watched them go into two different apartments and talk to several people over there. I don't know what was happening but no one was arrested before they left.

I saw the Marshall go to one of my neighbor's apartments but she wasn't home. I seriously doubt the Marshall was there for her. She was probably there for the A-hole boyfriend that she kicked out over a month ago. He was loud and obnoxious and she is such a nice quiet woman. A couple of days later two Marshall's showed up at her door when she was home and they went it to talk to her. They came out and left and haven't been back. I have to wonder if her ex has a warrant and they were looking for him or something.

On Thursday the police showed up and then the ambulance. The ambulance took away the homeless brother of the guy who lives in my apartment building.
Then guy who's homeless brother is always breaking his windows was out there talking to the police I'm assuming about his brother. I have no idea what was wrong with the homeless brother but I know he does drugs so it might have been that.

Last week two different people moved out of my building. One guy just didn't want to renew his lease next month and I can hardly blame him with everything that's been happening around here. The other guy who moved out actually got evicted. It was the guy who was off his antipsychotic meds and was yelling and screaming all day and night. So many people complained that management finally evicted him.

Saturday morning I walked by drug dealer's apartment and there was a druggie out there in front of their door with a bucket of water. He had his pants pulled all the way down and was using the bucket of water to clean his junk. He pulled his pants up as I was walking by, pulled out a small vial and did a hit of coke off a small spoon. Did not even care I was there. Then he walked over to the bushes and urinated.
Drug dealer had their door open and did not care. I'm sure he got the bucket of water from them.
I can't even with this place. He then proceeded to stand down there cleaning the rest of his body in front of their door with the bucket of water.
So I guess drug dealer is ok with selling drugs, letting the druggies smoke the drugs in his apartment but draws the line at letting them take a shower or use the restroom?
Good grief.

The roofers have been on my building all week redoing the roof. They start at 7am and they are loud. But Falcor was sick with stomach troubles for a few of those nights and he got me up a few times each night to go out, so I didn't get any sleep. And I couldn't sleep in because of the noise.
One morning the roofers pushed their trailer right up to the wall of my building where the bedrooms are and they smacked the wall. Omg it was so loud and it shook the wall. It scared the bejuju's outta me at 7am. I was wide awake after that. I will be glad when they are done. But at least I don't have to worry about a leaky roof if it rains.

The high this week was 99F/37C
The low this week was 59F/15C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
But at least I don't have to worry about a leaky roof if it rains
ReplyDeleteHopefully the wall won't eventually collapse because of the trailer damaging it.
Yeah hopefully.
DeleteI hope Falcor is much better. And no, I don't want to watch a stranger washing, doing coke or urinating. Bleah.
ReplyDeleteFalcor is fine now. He just has a very sensitive stomach.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteThat's right, dear friend. You won't need to worry about a leaky roof from now on - only a leaky wall at the spot where the roofers plowed their truck into it and the black mold that might start growing in the cracks. I'm sorry that you got so little sleep this past week and that my buddy Falcor had a sick tummy. I hope he is better now and hope you get more ZZZZZs this coming week.
The anecdote about passing the drug dealer's pad is disturbing. Druggie instruction manual: Wash junk in public, snort coke, pee in bushes, repeat. I suppose that guy sitting out front served as effective free advertising for the drug dealer's business. I hope the people who move into the vacant units in your complex are nice people and not trouble makers.
99 degrees in Vegas? Triple digits - here we come! Have a safe and restful week, dear friend Mary!
It was a crazy week. Falcor is doing fine now. it is getting hot.
DeleteShowering with a bucket . . . oh dear Lord. What’s next?
ReplyDeleteRoofers are a rough bunch. Last time we had a roof done, they left their food trash, nails, etc. all over our landscaping.
I don't want to know what's next.
DeleteIt's stunning what people do and get away with at your apartment complex.
ReplyDeleteit really is.
DeleteThe roof being repaired, and the guy who screams, stacks sushi and hot dogs outside his unit being evicted is a little progress.
ReplyDeleteit is. Every little bit helps.
DeleteWe had six cops in the lobby last night waiting for an individual to come off the library before they took him away.
ReplyDeleteThat's not good.
DeleteEveryone should complain about the drug dealer and get him evicted, too. 😐
ReplyDeletePeople have complained. I don't know why they won't evict him.
DeleteThat is strange. 😐
DeleteLots of shenanigans as usual! Glad to hear the roofers are done so maybe you'll get some sleep.
ReplyDeleteOh they're just done for the weekend. They'll be back Monday morning.
DeleteGlad to hear the constantly screaming guy is gone. That guy showering with the bucket though... that kills me.
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice getting a new roof but yeah... like a previous commenter mentioned, they can be rough. when ours got done they left shingles and crap everywhere.
They are leaving stuff everywhere. I hope some of it gets cleaned up on Monday.
DeleteI don't even know what to say...
ReplyDeletelol I can understand that.
DeleteI'm with Carrie Sallie. I don't know what to say either. Hope this week is quieter for you.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteWow, that guy washing himself outside with a bucket, it's partly shocking and partly really sad. I really hope you're safe there.
ReplyDeleteI'm safe enough. I carry a stun gun and am willing to punch someone in the face if need be. lol
DeleteYou would think the police would open a satellite office at your place, it would sure save them lots of travel time.
ReplyDeleteThat would probably be a good idea.
DeleteAnother amazing week. It's crazy having a guy wash up with a bucket, it probably doesn't even make a difference, nobody would want to hang out with him. :)
ReplyDeleteHe hangs out at drug dealer's apartment with all the other druggies so I guess people are hanging out with him.
DeleteThis is all so crazy!!! I can't believe so many crazy people are out there lol!!
ReplyDeleteAll the crazy people are at my apartment complex.
DeleteNow you got me wondering. Does the F.B.I show up.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Not that I've seen yet.
DeleteSo glad his junk was clean so that he could pee in the bushes. LOL! I hope that bump on the wall didn't do any damage. But yea for a new roof! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteLOL I don't see any cracks or damage to the wall so hopefully it's ok.
DeleteYou shouldn't have to deal with the drug dealer and his cliental.
ReplyDeleteNo, we shouldn't but the manager doesn't want to seem to evict him even though people have complained. The manager just tells us to call the police. We have and he's been arrested but always gets out.
DeleteI hope the roofers are done soon and I hope Falcor is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thought about the drug dealer being okay taking their money and using with them, but not letting them use his restroom or shower. I guess it's something that he gives them the water--but sheesh.
I'm posting this comment on Thursday and the roofer's are still at it.
DeleteFalcor is better though.
I hope that the roofers are done soon. All of that noise is hard to live with. Too bad about what is going on near the drug dealers place. You would think they could go inside instead of trying to clean with a bucket.
ReplyDeleteYou would think. Maybe he wasn't allowed in. I have no idea.
