This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.
This week I heard a bunch of yelling outside and looked out my window to see the ambulance one building down in my apartment complex from me. They brought someone out in a stretcher and took them away.
A few minutes later the fire truck parked in front of my bedroom window. They all got out and went down to where the ambulance had just left. I heard more shouting from down there but didn't see anyone. I don't know what happened but no police showed up.
---
On Thursday night at 10pm, my daughter was down by her friends apartment in the last building down the street in our complex when several police officers walked into that courtyard. Her friend wasn't home so she didn't stick round so I'm not sure what was going on.
But a little while later I heard a quick siren and looked outside to see 5 police cars driving down my street. One police car stopped at the end of my street and stayed there for about 10 minutes. The other 4 police cars went around the corner. Then the one that was parked t the end of my street drove off. I have no idea what was going on but I looked outside a couple more times and twice I saw more police cars driving by. But I don't know what was going on.
all in all it was another pretty quiet week.
The high this week was 103F/39C
The low this week was 67F/19C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
It sounds as if it may have been quiet for you (yay) but some near neighbours were not so lucky.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what was going on with them.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteThanks for filing your weekly report on police, fire and crime activity in your neighborhood, dear friend. It's sad that every week you see someone coming out of an apartment either in cuffs or on a stretcher. It amazes me that they dispatch five police units to the scene when nothing much appears to be going on. The department must have manpower to spare. I'm glad your daughter wasn't hassled by police the night she was down by her friend's place and the boys in blue arrived at the scene.
The bad news is that the mercury reached 103 again this week. The good news is that it didn't climb any higher.
Have a safe and happy week, dear friend Mary (and Falcor)!
It is weird that so many police officers show up when they are called. it's supposed to be 109 this week.
DeleteYes, a bit of a quiet week for you.
ReplyDeleteThankfully.
DeleteWe had an ambulance and a few police cars at a neighbor’s on Friday night. I’ve not heard what happened.
ReplyDeleteDang, it always makes me wonder what went on.
DeleteAmbulance, Fire Truck, Police Cars ... you hit the trifecta this week :-)
ReplyDeletelol Sure did.
DeleteNice that your daughter has friends in the area. I seen my fair share of police driving ride-share this week, not always the greatest to see people on the highway not pulling over for the EMTs.
ReplyDeleteYeah sometimes people are stupid and don't pull over.
DeleteAmazing to have a couple of quiet weeks, I hope the trend continues!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so too.
DeleteSo much excitement happens at your place. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI will try.
DeleteI wonder what was going on down there...
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew.
DeleteIf only it was those shirtless firemen 🧑🚒
ReplyDeleteHa! Yes, I could go for that.
DeleteHope you enjoyed the quiet weeks Dear Mary!
ReplyDeleteI did.
DeleteThat's never good when the ambulance takes someone away. Hope they were alright. The police sure are busy around your place too.
ReplyDeleteStay safe over there!
I hope they were to.
DeleteYour 'quiet weeks' are still pretty active compared to where I live. Take care and have a good week! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's still a lot.
DeleteGlad you had a relatively quiet week for your complex!
ReplyDeleteI am too.
DeleteI have wonder how anyone get full night sleep there.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Apparently all your wild neighbors have moved in down the street from me...We had the police out surrounding a house a few blocks away last weekend! Oh my!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, sounds like you had some excitement too.
DeleteThere is always something going on in your neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteYep, even when it's quiet around here.
DeleteHaving a quiet week is a bonus, hope you get more.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteYes, a quiet week for you (thankfully)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
PS your temperatures are high! Phew!
Even higher this week. It's gonna be 108 today.
DeleteNice that things weren't too crazy last week. I hope the person in the ambulance was okay. It would drive me nuts not to know what was going on - have you ever thought of investing in a scanner?
ReplyDeleteMy brother had a scanner and it would say where the call was coming from, the address but not much else.
Delete103! Oof... it's too early for that. 😒
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is.
DeleteYou must have been a bit startled when the fire truck parked outside your window! Is my apartment on fire?
ReplyDeleteI see the fire truck around here all the time for calls. Nothing really startles me anymore. If I see smoke, that would be a different thing though.
