Favorite Song of the Week
I'm not even sure if I've shared this song before but I was listening to it the other day and thought I wanted to share this song this week. Avenged Sevenfold have a lot of great songs but this happens to be my favorite.
This 2010 Avenged Sevenfold release is a great song and video. "Nightmare" is the lead single and title track of the West Coast metal band's 5th studio album. As Wiki explains, the song "deals with an individual who is damned for his wrongdoings on earth. The song is sung from the point of view of a resident of hell, who may have once been a living person too, mocking the other character and pointing out that it's his own fault he's in hell."
The setting for the video should be familiar to rock and horror fans. It is the Linda Vista Community Hospital in LA, a facility that closed more than 30 years ago, but remains a popular filming location for movies, TV shows and music videos. It was a filming location for Addams Family Values, Boo, Day of the Dead 2, sequels of the Insidious supernatural horror film series, the pilot of the hit TV series ER, Buffy, Charmed, True Blood, Criminal Minds, and numerous music videos including "Adrenalize" by Maria Brink & her band In This Moment, "Maniac" by Girlicious, "Stupify" by Disturbed and "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails.
I enjoyed this song and video by A.S. Happy Christmas eve to you, dear friend Mary!
This is an Award-Free blog. It is a lovely gesture, but I am unable to comply with the terms of the awards so I have made this an Award-Free blog. Thank You for understanding.
Truly dramatic - and a little unnerving.
ReplyDeleteI love this song. But yes, I can totally see this as being a little unnerving.
