I love the look and sound of from Ashes To New. I am delighted to discover that the nu metal band is from Lancaster, PA, the city where I spent half my life and working career before moving to Florida. Lancaster, known as the Red Rose City, is located just across the river from my hometown York, the White Rose City. In the years since I left York, Central PA has become a heavy metal mecca, with several notable rock and metal bands emerging on the scene. They include Live, the band from York that you have featured several times on Dark Thoughts, Halestorm, the popular band from Red Lion, a town only a few miles from York, August Burns Red, another band from Lancaster, Motionless In White, a band from up the road in Scranton, Breaking Benjamin, based in Wilkes-Barre, and the 80s band Poison from nearby Mechanicsburg.
In 2020, the first year of the COVID outbreak, "Panic" by From Ashes, reached #7 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart and #11 on the Mainstream Rock chart.
Thanks for posting another great Favorite Song of the Week. I'll be back over tomorrow for a report on the neighborhood. Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend Mary!
