First came The Who. Now here comes The Hu! Like you, I dig the refreshingly different sound of Mongolian folk metal brought to life with authentic traditional instrumentation and vocal styling by The Hu, a band that derived its name from an ancient Mongol/Turkic empire.
The song "Black Thunder" features Serj Tankian, lead singer from System of a Down, and DL from Bad Wolves. The powerful piece would work well in the soundtrack of an epic sci-fi action adventure movie. In fact, watching the awesome music video, I imagined that I was screening a trailer for such a movie. Released as a single from the 2022 album Rumble Of Thunder, "Black Thunder" peaked at #14 on the World Digital Song Sales chart. The album cracked the top 3 on the UK Rock & Metal chart.
Thanks for the introduction. I really like these guys and wouldn't want to piss them off. :) FYI - I will be back to see you again tomorrow but, after that, I need to take a break from blogging until the second week of June and will therefore miss some of your posts. Have a great weekend, dear friend Mary!
This is an Award-Free blog. It is a lovely gesture, but I am unable to comply with the terms of the awards so I have made this an Award-Free blog. Thank You for understanding.
I like this one - though I would like to have seen more of the drums we saw early in the clip.
