This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.
There have been so many military helicopters flying around lately but this one in particular was flying in circles about 2 streets from me for a while one morning.
I think it's a Blackhawk helicopter but I'm not completely sure. I'm used to seeing them fly by but when this one started flying in circles a couple of streets over, I took a picture.
The cars were in the way when the police showed up and arrested a methhead who was yelling at someone down the street. But you can see the flashing lights from the police car.
And I got a picture of the police car as it was leaving with the woman who was arrested.

I heard my neighbors dog having a complete meltdown. I was getting ready to call the police because I thought she might be hitting her dog again. Then I saw 2 Animal Control officers dragging the dog *Chop* out with 2 catch poles. And yes, you might remember that this same neighbor called animal control to come get this same dog a few months ago because the dog growled at her. *eyeroll*
So she called them again! I have no idea what for this time. Hopefully Animal Control has better sense than to let the husband come get the dog two days later like he did the last time and bring him home again. Maybe the dog will find a better home. These people should be barred from having any animals.
One of my other neighbors was outside yelling at the owner to at least come walk the dog to the truck so it wasn't having a meltdown but she didn't. Oh man, my other neighbor was mad that they called and had their dog taken away again. She was outside telling anyone outside that the dogs owner is a piece of crap, on drugs and a b*tch. Oh she was mad. Not that I blame her, that was a messed up thing to do once, let alone twice.

On Sunday I was busy trying to find an Emergency Veterinarian Hospital open but the one I found charged $350 just to be seen. So I waited until Monday to call Falcor's regular Vet but they didn't have an opening for 2 weeks. They referred me to a different veterinary animal hospital and they were able to get me in on Tuesday morning at 8AM. Turns out Falcor had an infected anal gland and they cleaned him up, flushed the wound and sent me home with antibiotics, pain meds, anti inflammatory meds and some cream. He should be good and all healed in 2 weeks.
The Veterinarian room.
But that's why I didn't have time to put together Happy Raturday or My Favorite Song this week. I've been getting very little sleep because Falcor wakes up and needs cuddles or is just not comfortable. Sometimes he wakes up and and walks around bumping into things with the cone.
Poor Falcor has to wear a cone for two weeks.
I bought a footless pajama for Falcor so he could have some relief from the cone for a while. Well, he outsmarted me by finding a way to stick his head up through the leg hole and get at his wound. He outsmarted me. lol He's cute though.
The high this week was 98F/36C
The low this week was 73F/22C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
Maybe the military helicopters are preparing to launch a missile strike against the druggies in you neighborhood? It would kind of be overkill but better than continuing to neglect the problem.
ReplyDeleteLOL I hope not. It was weird seeing all the military helicopters here though.
DeletePoor Falcor. And yes, they are good at outsmarting us aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI hope that dog doesn't go back to your neighbour. Ever.
Falcor is so much better than he was. I hope they don't get the dog too.
DeletePoor Falcor. No one wants to wear the cone of shame.
ReplyDeleteHope those people never get their dog back again.
Falcor is healing nicely. He's getting used to the cone but I know he'll be so happy to have it off in a week. I hope they never get another dog.
DeleteGlad to know Falcor is now on the mend.
ReplyDeleteHe's so much better.
DeletePoor Falcor! I hope he’s healing well. Sounds like it’s just as hard to get a vet appt as it is for humans to get a Dr appt these days.
ReplyDeleteI was happy I found a vet that would take us so fast.
DeleteI witnessed some people trying to make their way into Midtown Market and security telling them to please leave, and the hysteria was unbelieveable. I could feel the pain through my bones.
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like a lot of drama. Hopefully no one got hurt.
DeletePoor Falcor, having to wear the cone of shame. I hope he's on the mend and feeling better this week. And I feel so bad for your neighbor's dog! I hope they find a better home for him.
ReplyDeleteFalcor is feeling much better. I hope they don't get the dog back either. The dog is so sweet. Hopefully someone ho knows what they're doing will give the dog a good home.
DeleteFalcor looks cute as a button in his P.J.'s. As for that other dog, an owner has to be a terrible horrible person for their own dog to turn on them that way.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the dog even turned on her. She got mad the last time that the dog even growled. I have no idea what he did this time. She shouldn't even have a child much less a dog.
DeleteThat poor dog being sent to animal control not once but twice! What awful people. Like you said, some people shouldn't be allowed to have animals! Poor Falcor! I hope he gets better soon. At least he got his issue taken care of.
ReplyDeleteFalcor is feeling much better. He's already almost healed. They shouldn't have a dog.
DeleteYep, they should have put that evil woman in the animal truck and hauled her ass away. That poor dog. Poor Falcor, I hope the all better shows up a bit early for him.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Hopefully they don't try to get anymore animals. Falcor is doing much better.
DeletePoor dog! I hope it does find a better home. And those military copters... hmm. The conspiracy theorists will have fun w/ those... :)
ReplyDeletePoor Falcor! I hope little dude is doing better!
Oh I was thinking all kinds of crazy things about the military helicopters too. Falcor is doing better.
DeleteIt freaks me out when I hear helicopters go by at 2am. I'm like, what are they DOING lol?
DeleteLots going on. Poor Falcor!
ReplyDeleteHe's doing better.
DeletePoor little guy, I hope he continues to heal.
ReplyDeleteHe's healing nicely.
DeleteDogs are so expensive! I am glad that you were able to get Falcor in and get him treated. I feel so bad for the poor dog at the mercy of your awful neighbors. Some people shouldn't have pets.
ReplyDeleteYes they are. That's why I have an emergency credit card. lol These people shouldn't have pets. I hope they don't get any more.
DeletePOOR FALCOR! *gentle pats* I love the little PJs - so adorable. I hope he feels better and heals in the next couple weeks. And I hope you aren't reporting that the dog is back with the neighbors in next week's post. She doesn't deserve to have a pet!
ReplyDeleteFalcor is doing much better. So far they don't have the dog back.
DeleteThose people better not get that dog back. Poor thing. Also, poor Falcor. I hope he's feeling better now!
ReplyDeleteSo far they don't have the dog back. I think this time they aren't going to. Falcor is doing much better, the meds are working really well.
DeletePoor little Falcor
ReplyDeleteHe's feeling a lot better now.
