This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.
The police parked across the street from the apartment complex across from me. They have been getting a lot of police calls lately. No one was arrested so that's good maybe. lol
----
My apartment complex upgraded their resident portal a month ago and I haven't been able to log in since the upgrade. I called the office so many times over the past month and was finally able to get logged into the portal 2 days ago. I agreed to renew my lease this month but the only way to do that is to log into the resident portal and renew on their site. So I find my lease and nothing is clickable for me to E-sign it. So Once again I had to call the office and she tells me there's nothing she can do because it's not their website so she has to send in another maintenance ticket to the tech company that runs it. I hope they get it fixed because this is ridiculous.
The high this week was 65F/15C
The low this week was 40F/4C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
I do hope you can renew your lease. You are right, it is totally ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI hope I can too.
DeleteFunny how they call them "upgrades" when they almost always mess something up.
ReplyDeleteI know, so frustrating.
DeleteIs there no other way to renew the lease other than through the portal? What happens if someone does not have access to a laptop and/or are not computer literate?
ReplyDeleteNo, this is the only way they will accept the lease now. They are paper free as well and you can only pay using Letus. They don't see anyone in person in the office either.
DeleteUsually I get stressed by 'updates' and 'upgrades' as it confuses me and upsets me, at least, in the beginning.
ReplyDeleteWhen things don't work it is frustrating.
DeleteWeb automation is not the answer to everything.
ReplyDeleteI'll be offline the rest of the month, so Merry Christmas, Mary!
Merry Christmas to you as well.
DeleteWhen places try to make things easier, they never work out the way they're suppose to.
ReplyDeleteNo they don't.
DeleteTechnology issues are super frustrating! I hope it’s handled quickly for you.
ReplyDeleteI hope it doesn't take another month to get fixed.
DeleteThat is very frustrating and stressful.
ReplyDeleteYes it is.
DeleteI sure hope that tech problem gets solved, it shouldn't be that tough.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so frustrating
ReplyDeleteIt is.
DeleteHow stressful for you, I do hope you can renew your lease.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I hope so too.
DeleteMaybe the poilice being around so much will be a deterrent to some of the unsavory elements around. Or maybe not lol. And that's crazy about the portal! It's like my kids' apartment complex- the office seems unable to do anything efficinetly.
ReplyDeleteIt really doesn't surprise me that the office for this place is so dysfunctional.
DeleteI hope you get your apartment lease sorted. Nothing is ever easy, right?
ReplyDeleteNo it's not what's just drives me nuts.
DeleteFrustrating, indeed!
ReplyDeleteI got it fixed today!
DeleteI keep saying that technology has made life more complicated not less, and your struggle with the new resident portal is yet another example.
ReplyDeleteThey should have been doing everything they could do remedy this situation way before it took a month.
DeleteOMG. My eyes rolled so hard, I think I dropped one. LOL. Stupid, useless upgrades!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
lmao Merry Christmas to you as well.
