This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.
I noticed this guy hanging out his bedroom window across the street. He was using a drill so I figured he was installing a camera.
I was right. lol I'm not the only one around here wanting to get pictures of all the action and shenanigans.
He had it installed in less than an hour.
This is a picture from weeks ago when they were redoing the roof but I'm using it so you can see what window across the street it is that has the new camera. It's the right window on the second story. Directly across from me so I'll have to be careful having my curtains open at night. lol Don't want to end up in someone else's story.
When I was being nosy and taking pictures across the street, when I zoomed into this window I noticed another camera in the right corner. LOL There's probably a lot more cameras pointing on our street than I thought there was. With all the homeless, domestic disturbances, drunk people, and drug addicts acting a fool out here at night, as well as the police, fire Department and ambulance... I'm not surprised to see all the cameras.
---
On Wednesday there were two police cars down the street. I saw someone being arrested but I went inside when the police turned and were watching me watch them. They don't seem to care if people are out watching unless they see you taking pictures.
---
Tuesday night around 10:30PM I heard about 5 gunshots pretty close by. I waited to see if I saw anyone running or screaming. I didn't see or hear anything and no police showed up so I figured it must not have been that close after all. Nothing around here the next morning either. They could have just been shooting in the air as well. I couldn't pinpoint where the shots came from so saw no reason to call the police.
The high this week was 81F/27C
The low this week was 41F/5C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
I don't think there are many cameras in our street - but then it is usually fairly quiet/dull here.
ReplyDeleteI can understand not having camera when the street is quiet and nothing is going on.
DeleteBusiness as usual
ReplyDeleteYou know it.
DeleteEveryone there needs camera inside and out.
ReplyDeleteSure seems that way.
DeleteWell, if ever you're on the internet and you find another blog that has pictures of your street, you'll know who's probably writing it.
ReplyDeleteThat would be funny. There are probably more cameras that I just don't see.
DeleteThe guy installing the camera . . . Do you think he works for the building owner? I wonder if anything will change?
ReplyDeleteNo, he lives there. The vest is from the city job he has. I see the city truck he drives sometimes.
DeleteCameras are a (necessary) thing these days
ReplyDeleteYes they are. I have one in my living room window.
DeleteIt would be hilarious if those with cameras are broadcasting, either with a blog, live streaming or videos uploaded to TikTok.
ReplyDeleteIt really would be.
DeleteWow, the UK is supposed to be surveillance central but our houses aren't festooned with cameras. I wonder why he feels a camera is necessary?
ReplyDeleteProbably the same reason I do. I have one in my living room window. Because so much happens on my street and just in case someone tries to break into a car, or a window below. You just never know what's going to happen around here. About 15 years ago there was a shootout between 2 cars on my street.
DeleteLOL at the cameras! I mean, who wouldn't want that--for safety and also just to be entertained, right?
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteI think there are a lot of cameras out there nowadays. We have several on our property as well. Hearing gunshots is scary! Stay safe, Mary!
ReplyDeleteI have a camera in my living room window to catch anyone stealing my packages. Thankfully the gunshots weren't really close but sure sounded close enough.
DeleteThat's hilarious. Oh the stuff he's gonna capture... :)
ReplyDeleteCamera o rama!
lmao I need to buy one for my bedroom window now.
DeleteEveryone should have 10 cameras in your area haha just have to remember you're likely always being watched. No matter who or where you are. Cameras everywhere these days.
ReplyDeleteYes there are a lot of cameras everywhere.
DeleteWow, Mary, your neighborhood sounds like it's straight out of a crime drama!
ReplyDeleteI guess it's a good thing that guy installed that camera – who knows what else he'll capture!
Hugs and blessings
lmao Yeah it does.
DeleteWhy are you complaining, missy, you are like a human video camera too LOL
ReplyDeleteOh I'm not complaining, I think it's funny that I'm not the only one who wants to get pictures of all the action around here.
DeleteMaybe you can have a group meeting to compare what folks are recording. Share some cookies and such. Haha! I hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny. lmao
DeleteNo surprise that some of your other neighbors have cameras as well. That's quite the temperature difference you had this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised either, I'm just surprised I havent noticed them before now. I found another one in a window today. lol
DeleteThe overnight lows are still nice.
