A while back my friend Anna, from Herding Cats & Burning Soup did a post about things around her house. I liked the idea so much I did my own post a while back. Then one of my blogger buddies Bytes From The 'Burbs, did her own post. I love these posts and you all seemed to like it as well so I thought I would do another one. Feel free to join in and do your own post.
So if you were to walk around my house there might be a few things that stand out as strange, nothing I'd classify as outlandish but maybe a bit weird. I never said I was normal...let's just get that out there, okay? 😛 😂
Skull mugs. They're not just for Halloween.
It's been a while since I've done one of these posts. If you'd like to see the other two posts I did about things around my apartment, I'll post links to them below.
LED light tree. I use it as my night light. It changes into a bunch of different colors.
Wiccan wall art and shelves. I consider myself to be a Wiccan Agnostic. My daughter is also Wiccan. I'm not religious but I still worship nature. I don't think you have to pick one path and stick to it. Choose what you believe from many paths and believe what feels right to you. My daughter made the pentacle wall hangings.
Wiccan shelf has a statue of Baphomet (because I find this diety interesting and the statues fun to look at.) Various small bottle with dead bugs. They were dead when we found them. A real cat skull that my daughter found, cleaned and bleached for the shelf and little rocks, geodes ect.
Baphomet statue.
Baby Baphomet statue because he's flippin' adorable.
A cat skull. The cat was already dead when my daughter found it.
Hand statues symbolize strength, power and protection.
Dead spider in a jar. My daughter likes to keep dead bugs she finds. She has quite a few.
And yes I know the shelf is dusty. Don't come for me. lol We just had a windy day and I swear it's impossible to keep anything dusted completely here in Las Vegas. I could dust twice and day and things would still be dusty.
And can you even call yourself a Nevadan if you don't have a small souvenir jar of gold flakes from a gift shop?
One last thing which I thought was fun was a pair of demon horns that my daughter bought because she thought they were cute and I did too, just because.
Here I am wearing the demon horns and using a black makeup TIKTOK filter just to make it a little more spooky. The TikTok filter made me look way older though. Lol
Here's one using a Snapchat makeup filter. You have to have a little fun now and then.
So there you have it. Some interesting or weird things you would find around my apartment
I love your eclectic collections.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteQuite an eclectic collection. You should keep the demon horn headset handy so you can put it on before opening the door to Jehovah's Witnesses and the like.
ReplyDeleteI guess we can't drink ale out of cups made from the skulls of our enemies like in the old days, but skull mugs are the next best thing (and more hygienic).
You might want to double-check the links to your two other posts. They seem to both go to the same post.
OK thank you. My internet has been out for several days but once its back on and I can use my laptop again I'll check the links.
DeleteLove the demon horns, like the idea of joining in on weird things in my unit, but looks like I can't come near what you have, LOL. So anyway, I’m still wanting to know what the big secret was that shocked Ashley’s family in your Big Burly Cowboy post.
ReplyDeleteLol You'll have to read the book.
DeleteDammit!!
DeleteLol
DeleteWhat a fun idea for a post! I love seeing all your "weird" stuff and I clicked the links to the other blogs that did similar posts. The one with the California raisins randomly found throughout her house!!!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I cleared out my entire apartment last year so I don't have anything to show, weird or not weird.
Thank you. You'll have to get some weird stuff then. Lol
DeleteI remember those posts when Anna used to do them and I vaguely remember one of your earlier ones.
ReplyDeleteI guess your Wiccan wall decor would only be weird if you weren't Wiccan. I enjoyed my tour of your wall, Mary.
Thank you.
DeleteYou're right. It makes for a fascinating post to show weird things around the house. I am going to do one of these too!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading it.
DeleteWhen I saw 'weird things around my apartment' I thought you meant OUTside... was expecting things like more guys in shopping carts. LOL
ReplyDeleteI will try to do a post like this sometime soon, it's fun.
I'm looking forward to seeing it.
DeleteMy wife was a Wiccan back in her teenage years
ReplyDeleteThats cool.
DeleteQuite a few things there. I just have my Shiva cos he is kickass
ReplyDeleteTrue.
DeleteInteresting stuff. Quite a collection of things.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteThose are such interesting goodies, thanks for showing us!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome
DeleteYour collection is so fascinating!
DeleteI'm intrigued by your Wiccan wall art and shelves.
It's great how you blend different beliefs and find beauty in nature.
The demon horns are a fun touch too! Thanks for sharing these glimpses into your home.
Thank you.
DeleteSkulls as decorations are very popular around my part of Texas!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm running so late this week. I was delayed by a close encounter with Hurricane Beryl.
Oh no, I hope all is well.
DeleteVery cool stuff. I love that it all has meaning for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteInteresting things!
ReplyDeleteI should do this. I have weird stuff in my house lol I have skeletons as planters, some posed drinking tea at my counter or reading a cookbook a the bookshelf.
I also have a lot of gargoyles.
Yes, do it. Let me know when you do.
DeleteI like your Wiccan display! And those horns are TOO funny, lol! I'm a solitary eclectic pagan with a special emphasis on the Divine Feminine.
ReplyDeleteThank you. That's very interesting.
