This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 26 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 26 years here in a weekly blog post.
This dog is small but he's a terror! One of my neighbors has this dog that is NOT friendly and was outside without anyone else outside. Earlier he was out and he ran up to me and Falcor and he jumped on Falcor who just stood there. The dog was aggressive and I scooped Falcor up real fast and this dog was jumping on me and and jumping up trying to bite Falcor's leg.
I saw the guy by his door and started yelling at him to come get his dog. I had to yell at him several times before he came over. I said, "You heard him barking and didn't even see what was going on!" He just said sorry and got the dog. Then an hour later the dog is outside by himself. The owner is so irresponsible.
Wednesday night I saw the flashing lights coming through the bedroom window at 2AM. The ambulance was across the street and brought someone out on a gurney that they took to the ER. I found out the next day from some people who were out that someone got stabbed and the police were out looking for the boyfriend that ran off before the police got there. I guess more police showed up after I went back to sleep so I never saw them.
The high this week was 60F/15C
The low this week was 36F/2C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
Some animal owners are soooo irresponsible. I blame them for aggressive behaviour too. I hope the woman who was stabbed is ok.
ReplyDeleteMany people are irresponsible with their dogs, it's a worry as you just don't know what to expect from some dogs.
ReplyDeleteAmbulances remind me of mending people when I was RN in the Emergency Department of our local Public Hospital here. You never knew what was coming as in injury or problem in an ambulance.
You just never know about some dogs. That's the reason I carry a tazer with me in case some offleash large dogs come after us.
DeleteI would have been so upset by the dog. I’ve had dogs attack me when I’m out walking and it’s amazing how the owners act all surprised. Like, you don’t know your dog does this? Sure.🙄
ReplyDeleteRight? Keep the dogs on the leash, it's crazy so many keep dogs offleash.
DeleteSo...now you and Falcor also need an armor to defend yourself from biting dogs...
ReplyDeleteI hope the boyfriend can be apprehended and locked up, but these things never last...I hope his victim is OK at least.
Luckily it was just a small dog and didn't have to worry about him too much.
DeleteI have no idea who was stabbed or if they caught the guy.
I take it complaining to management about the dog would be pointless...
ReplyDeletePretty much. Just like the noisy neighbor. She's back to being loud after I complained.
DeleteThat guy better get his dog under control before it gets hurt. Not everyone is as tolerant as you are. With all the violent and crazy people in your area, the next person the dog attacks might just stomp it to death.
ReplyDeleteI know. There are so many offleash big dogs around here too. That little dog can get hurt.
DeleteI hate when dog owners don't train their dogs better and keep them under control. To just let his dog out like that is so irresponsible. Glad you and Falcor didn't get bitten.
ReplyDeleteI know, at least keep the dog on a leash.
DeleteIf the guy can't or won't look after his dog properly, why did he buy a dog in the first place? As you say, he's totally irresponsible.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, it boggles the mind.
DeleteSo, after the quiet time, things in the neighborhood are slowly heating up again. Is this neighbor with the bad dog the same neighbor that was playing loud music?
ReplyDeleteNope, different neighbor.
DeleteAwful happenings
ReplyDeleteYes it is.
DeleteThat poor dog will end up in serious trouble and it will be the owner's fault.
ReplyDeleteExciting night-time events - I hope the victim was alright.
Yeah, I hope so.
DeleteIrresponsible dog owners give the rest of us bad names. Wow, a nearby stabbing. I hope the person is okay and they find the perpetrator.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteThere's an irresponsible dog owner in my neighborhood, too. I used to watch The People's Court on TV and irresponsible dog owners and the results of their negligence were one of the most frequently tried cases. It's so sad, especially if the dog gets into serious trouble or worse - and for the innocent victims, too. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYes, I've watched that too. They need to keep the dog on a leash.
DeleteCan you make an anonymous call to Animal Control?
ReplyDeleteJust tazer both the dog and the owner next time LOL
ReplyDeleteThe dog is small and didn't hurt Falcor. I would love to tazer the owner though.
DeleteReport the guy and dog and maybe the authorities will talk to him and if he does it again, they may well take the dog away.
ReplyDeleteI've reported dogs before for this same reason and nothing happened.
DeleteCan you call animal control on the neighbor? Especially since the dog attacked your dog? I bet you're not the only one with that issue.
ReplyDeleteThe dog is small and did no damage to my dog. I've called animal control before on other people and nothing came of it.
DeleteI agree with Dezmond. That is totally irresponsible.
ReplyDeleteYes it is.
DeleteYes, the owner of that dog is irresponsible! His dog could injure someone and be injured by when someone tries to protect themself! Very sad all the way around.
ReplyDeleteYes it is.
DeletePoor Falcor! I hate dogs that behave like that. But it's the owner's fault. Be careful when walking by that place.
ReplyDeleteYes it is.
DeleteI'll bet the owner and dog has the same behavior
ReplyDeleteProbably.
DeleteWe see folks walking their dogs without a leash but letting them out to just wander is crazy.
ReplyDeleteOff leash dogs make me crazy.
DeleteI am not a fan of mean dogs and ones that are not under control of their owners.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand letting the dog out all the time.
Delete2c coldest! That is like what we have now which is too warm for Jan
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here over night.
DeleteThat's so sad about the dog. I wonder if the dog is aggressive because of how he's treated by the owner. He's so cute, too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a good week.
Could be.
DeleteI HATE those kinds of dog owners. There's a house down our street that I have to pass when I walk my great dane because we live on a court. They have a Pomeranian and Frenchie that are NEVER restrained and they are never outside with them. Their dogs always try to chase my dane when we pass and it always takes them 3-4 minutes to come collect their yappy dogs. Like I know you heard them, you need to do better so we can safely walk our leashed pets down our own street. Jerks.
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't understand not keeping your dogs leashed.
