Welcome to another edition of Freebie Friday, where I tell you what free samples and full sized products I received in the mail and how you can get them too. Someone asked me why I do a "Freebie Friday" each week, so I'll tell you.
A while back I listed all the free samples and wins that I had received that previous year and so many people didn't believe that I could have gotten so many free things. So I decided to prove it by taking a picture every week and sharing the sites that I found the links to the freebies at. So now you too can get great free samples coming to your mailbox each week.
You can find links to great samples at Hey It's Free and Freebie Shark.
This week I received:
A sample of Garnier Whole Blends Hair Repairing Mask.
Persil Proclean Laundry Detergent.
One Ultrafeel Condom.
Stevia Sweetener Sample in a re-closable baggie.
I won a signed copy of Wolf Tales 9 by Kate Douglas.
Let's for a moment go back to that Stevia sample... it's in a re-closeable baggie. I don't think I've ever received a sample in this manner before. I hardly think this is sterile, safe or hygienic. I threw this away without ever opening or using it. Ken said that there was no way to know for sure what was in that baggie and he's right. That was just not a very smart way of sending out samples. And it came in an envelope. What if the baggie had broke open during transport and someone had called in the FBI for a white powder? Hey, maybe I'm a little paranoid but it's happened before. Not smart at all.

Yeah, good point about the Stevia packaging.
ReplyDeleteQuite a stash you got this week.
Thanks. I don't know what they were thinking.
DeleteA sure different stash this week. Yeah, wise choice too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, a few interesting items this week.
DeleteYIKES! You're right about that Stevia sample, and good idea to just throw it away. Persil is always nice to get. Kudos on the book win too! Hugs and Happy Friday! RO
ReplyDeleteThank you. Persil is a good brand.
DeleteThat s really bizarre!! I would have pitched it too.
ReplyDeleteI received $10 from Nielson. They want me to wear some device that transmits radio and TV signals to them. Also, everyone in my household would wear one. The brochure said we could earn up to $75 a month, but I'm not doing it. They've called 3 times now and I'm just ignoring the call.
I did Nielson for a while scanning my receipts. But it took so long to get the points and the scanning didn't always go through.
DeleteI would've thrown it away as well. After the anthrax scare a few years ago, that was a really dumb way to send out samples. Did you let them know?
ReplyDeleteA free condom?
Yeah I let them know. Yeah, every once in a while condom sites will send out a free one. lol
DeleteWe agree, we would have tossed that bag too. Otherwise, cool goodies!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm glad everyone seems to think it was a bad idea.
DeleteNice haul Mary and after I saw your goodie box yesterday I signed on but my god they make you jump through some hoops I even got a call from some place trying to sell me magazines. ARe the hoops worth it?
ReplyDeleteI don't know what hoops you're talking about. If your talking about the special offers, I don't do any of those. They won't get you a goodie box.
DeleteDefinitely, I would have tossed the bag too.
ReplyDeleteIt just wasn't a safe sample.
DeleteA book is always a good week
ReplyDeleteMade me very happy.
DeleteLol, that baggie of dubious white substance... Who on earth would think that was a good idea?!
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I sure didn't.
DeleteHello Mary. I could use some of that Garnier Whole Blends Hair Repairing Mask. But what in the world is an Ultrafeel Condom? Ultra? :D
ReplyDeleteI guess the condom is just one that you feel a lot more with it on. Who knows. lol
DeleteThat is crazy about the Stevia sample. I can't believe it would arrive without even being in an original package with the brand name one it. Good thing you threw it out. :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
I don't know what they were thinking.
DeleteThat looks so suspicious. I would have thrown it away too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it wasn't a great idea on their part.
DeleteGoodness! That was the first thing I thought of when I saw your picture. I'm glad you threw it away! I would report whoever sent that sample--if you could.
ReplyDeleteI sent them a message about it.
DeleteBetter safe than sorry. I'd have pitched it too...
ReplyDeleteI was a bad marketing idea for sure.
DeleteI would have trashed it too. You can never be too careful with the foods you consume!
ReplyDeleteThat's too true.
DeleteI probably wouldn't have kept the Stevia sample either. The condom sample is different :)
ReplyDeleteI used to get a lot of free condoms but they hardly ever send out free ones anymore.
DeleteThat's great you won a signed copy and nice you got some samples too. That stevia sample looks weird in that baggie like that, who knows if it really is stevia. I would've done the same and thrown that away, that's so weird to package it like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was a bad call on their part for sure.
DeleteThe whole blends and persil are both so nice. Good week!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I love the Whole Blends line. They have some really good products.
DeletePersil is a very good brand :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I agree. I like it.
