Apartment Life #206

This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 20 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 20 years here in a weekly blog post.

You might remember a few weeks ago I told you that the laundry room and shop kept getting broke into my the meth heads? Well, after the windows of the laundry room were broken out last time, they decided to do something about it. They installed metal bars on the window. It's looking more and more like a jail around here. I wonder if this will keep the window from getting broken?

It was quiet around here for another week. Maybe most of the trouble makers have finally moved away. Hey, if this trend continues, I'll have nothing to post here. lol I hope you all have a great week.

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Life Update:

This week Ken was supposed to have a lung biopsy but after waiting for 4 hours the doctor cancelled the procedure because we don't have a car and Ken was going to take a taxi home. I'm glad that we have the funds so he can take a taxi when he needs to but sometimes it's just not an option. So now we have to wait for them to reschedule it. So I'm sharing our fundraiser that our daughter created for a car, again. We made it almost to the halfway point in this fundraiser but we have a ways to go in order to get a car. I appreciate all the sharing and donations so far, it means a lot to us.

  4. That’s awful that he was ready for the procedure and the dr canceled. Can someone ride home in the taxi with him? I don’t see how they expect everyone to have a car.

    1. Had they told us beforehand that someone was required to be with him on the way home, our daughter would have taken a taxi there and rode home with him but they said nothing.

  5. I really hate to hear the doctors couldn't provide Ken with any options to have the procedure and get home safely.

    1. I know. They didn't even give us a choice. We could have taken a taxi there and rode home with him but they just cancelled it.

  7. I hope things do calm down in your apartments. Sometimes it is nice to have peace and quiet.

I wish there was another option for your husband to get to and from the doctor's safely.

I agree with Jennifer's comment about Ken's cancelled procedure.

  11. Hopefully Ken's appointment will be rescheduled very soon. It's incredible that he had to wait 4 hours before it got cancelled, that's not right.

  12. Glad it was a quiet week! Hopefully the meth heads will stay out of the laundry room now!

That sucks about Ken having to wait and be rescheduled! Wishing you guys the best this week.

  15. Having to wait all that time and then be sent home is crazy. I can't see the difference in what vehicle he comes home in as long as his family is there to help him when he gets on. How frustrating for all of you. I really hope things will quieten down around your area and give you some well deserved peace.

  17. My theory still stands, everyone is too busy protesting.

  18. I am hoping the metal bars will help with the windows being broken. No point in breaking them if you can't get in after (I would think). Glad it is a little more peaceful for you right now. Hope Ken and you are doing well. It's a lot emotionally. Sending you a hug.

  20. That's one horror story about the procedure. They should have been more explicit beforehand, and not wait till the last minute only to tell you it couldn't be done. Cancer patients are frail, for goodness' sake. I wish you well for the next time!

  21. Hopefully the bars will help. I hate that you had to wait 4 hours before they decided to cancel the appointment. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise though, should it? I hope you don't have to wait too long before he can get another appointment--and this one actually goes through. I don't like the fact that they are pushing it off based on the fact you don't have a car--especially since you had the means at the time for him to take a taxi home.

Sending hugs and prayers. Take care and stay safe and well.

  22. Thank goodness for the bars, and hope that makes a difference. That had to be so frustrating about the procedure, and I agree. They should have provided you with every piece of info needed so the procedure could be done. Too important, and they should have been proactive! Ugh.. Thanks for reposting the info too! Hugs, RO
