Review: Healing Her Wolf by Zoe Chant

Book Description

A curious vet + a wounded werewolf + some tender loving care = one sexy, sizzling story

For vet Maddy Petersen, there’s no better way to spend her Friday night than taking care of an injured animal. When she gets a call to pick up a wounded, feral dog, she’s not sure what surprises her more: that it’s actually a wolf, or how friendly it is once it sees her. Actually, the biggest surprise might just be the hunky, naked guy it turns into…

Konrad Stone was looking for his mate so he could become Alpha for the wolf shifters in his hometown. He’ll be damned if one of his useless cousins takes the position instead. Meeting Maddy is a dream come true – although he never imagined it would involve being led around on a catchpole.

Neither of them can deny the instant, mutual passion between them, and Konrad can’t wait to spend the rest of his life with her in his hometown. But can he convince Maddy that love at first sight is real?

This is a standalone werewolf romance. No cliffhangers!

My Review

Konrad and a couple of his cousins leave their homes in search of their mates. In order to try and claim the alpha spot and be the leader, they have to have a mate and bring her back to live there. But before he can actually find his mate, another wolf attacked him and left him injured. Thinking that the best thing to do was to hold up somewhere overnight and heal, he hides out in a shed. But the owners freak out and call the vet to come get him since they can see he's bleeding.

As soon as Maddy is there to deal with the stray (dog), Konrad knows that she is his mate and acts like the love sick wolf he is. He lets her put a catchpole around his neck, take him back to the vet clinic and clean him up and then lays on her rug at the foot of her bed.

This story was so cute. I really liked how goofy Konrad is when he finally comes close to her in his wolf form and just goes along with whatever she wants him to do. It's not until he turns back into a human that things get a little crazy. I mean, telling her and having her believe that he's a wolf shifter and she's his mate right away would probably be a little much for any human to digest. But it was a really quick, cute novella and I had a good time with this book.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
