Book Review: A Demon's Touch By Ella Jade
Book Description
Demons aren’t supposed to have feelings. But I do, and that’s what made being condemned to earth my own personal hell.
As the only empathetic sex demon in history, being surrounded by emotional mortals is absolute torture. All I want is to get out of here.
Until I meet Harper Whitmore.
The last thing I expect is to fall in love with her. But just when I decide life on earth might not be so bad, Hell decides they want me back. And they’ve just put a bounty on her head to make me comply.
I have two choices: walk away from the woman I accidentally fell in love with...or fight for her, allowing her to discover that I’m nothing more than a monster. Either choice will condemn me to a life of misery, but for the first time in my life, I just want to do what’s good.
If only I knew what that was...
My Review
When Harper's uncle dies, Angelo decides that Harper will fill his shoes and become his new lawyer. But Angelo is a very rich, very secretive client that has very specific requirements for his lawyer. The most important one is that the lawyer has to come to his house because Angelo doesn't go to them, in fact he rarely goes anywhere except for business. This entire situation is very strange to Harper but she needs the job she has so when her boss tells her to go, she goes.
Meeting Angelo is intimidating not just because he's super rich but because he's very serious and sure of himself. What Harper doesn't know is that Angelo is a demon, a sex demon to be exact. But he's not a bad guy which was surprising. When some angels fall from heaven he will give them a place to stay and helps them as long as they help him. So Harper has no idea that the women at his place are fallen angels and when Angelo realizes that they are making her feel uncomfortable, he makes them all move out. Right away his people are seeing changes in him because of Harper and some of them are quite jealous. Of course that's going to be a problem that Angelo has to deal with eventually.
Angelo isn't all bad because his mother was an angel, like actual angel. His father was a demon so he's a bit of both bad and good but seemed more good than bad unless someone got on his bad side then all bets are off. Oh man, I loved Angelo, I love being able to root for the supposed bad guy who really isn't all that bad at all.
When Angelo's demon father starts taunting him to come back to hell and putting Harper in danger when he refuses, things start to ramp up and Angelo knows he's going to have to find a way to stop his demon father once and for all. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next book in this series now.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
