It's my Blogoversary!
It's hard to believe that 16 years ago I started this blog. At first I had no idea what to write about. I still pretty much write about whatever I want to most days so I'm glad that so many of you seem to enjoy my posts.
A lot of things have changed in the last 16 years. My daughter is all grown up and now I have an 8 year old grandson. I used to have hamsters, rats and gerbils and now have a very energetic Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua named Falcor.
My blog has changed as I've changed over the years. I've met a lot of really wonderful people and made quite a few friends along the way. I've ranted, reviewed, shared my thoughts and advice. I don't think I ever really thought that I would still be blogging 16 years later or that anyone would read what I had to say, but many of you do and I thank you for sticking with me through so many years.
Most of my old followers know that my husband of 30 years found out last year that he had stage 4 lung cancer in March and 8 months later in November of 2020, he passed away. It was a very dark time for me but so many of my online friends sent me words of encouragement, sympathy and listened when I needed to talk. You all also came though in a big way when my daughter made a Go Fund Me to help with his taxi rides to and from his doctor appointments and then his funeral. You all showed me in a big way that wonderful people are still around willing to help and I just wanted you to know how much we appreciated that.
So for all of you followers that have been here for a long time and for those of you that are fairly new, I just want to thank you for visiting, commenting and enjoying what I've been posting over the years. I hope we'll all be around and blogging for many years to come.

I congratulate you for summoning strength and pressing on during hard times, keeping your family together and maintaining a presence in blogland. I am learning about your husband for the first time. I'm terribly sorry about what happened to him. The world has changed dramatically in the last 16 years. Through it all, the common thread of genuine friendship and goodwill has prevailed around the blog circuit. Thank you for reaching out to me this year and inviting me into your world, Mary. DeleteYou are four or five years ahead of me LOL I never stopped blogging during all these years even though I have a very busy career which makes me work up to 14 hours a day six days a week. Blogging in the evening kinda helps me erase the work from my head and relax a bit.

DeleteThat’s amazing, Mary. I don’t think I know any other bloggers who’ve been at it that long. I have occasionally gone back and read some of your old posts, just to get to know you better. I really liked some of your older stuff and your post about your thyroid issues helped me out a few years ago when I was going through something similar.

DeleteYou've probably seen a lot of changes in 16 years. I remember when I started, I had to write my own code. I still opt for the HTML side to write out my posts. You did good to keep your years together. Mine were lost in transition to different platforms.
