Apartment Life #295

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.

My loud neighbor who plays the porn, slams his door and yells all day had his sister come to his place this week. My daughter and another neighbor were sitting outside and she came to talk to them and let them know she was sorry for all the noise he's making that he has mental problems and he stopped taking his meds. But that so many people have complained that the apartment manager is trying to evict him. While she was at his place, she made him take his medication and he called the police on her. They got into a big fight and she called the police on him. So the police came but didn't stay long.

I enlarged the picture so you can see the police car. I kept the original picture because with that huge sound wall, it makes me feel like I'm in prison surrounded by a high wall. lol The palm tree's are pretty though.

The high this week was 72F/22C
The low this week was 38F/3C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  1. Hi, Mary!

Yessum, that tall wall might keep highway noise out of your neighborhood, but it does resemble a prison wall and it traps the crazy in. Whenever you walk Falcor or gaze out the window, try to ignore the cold concrete, cop cars, spent needles and hot dogs on the ground and focus on the palms and other beautiful works of nature.

It seems like nothing much got resolved when the loud, mentally unbalanced porn guy's sister visited. Obviously, he doesn't appreciate her or anyone else getting up in his business. At least she had the courtesy to approach your daughter and a neighbor and apologize for the ruckus he makes.

Have a safe and happy week ahead, dear friend Mary!

    1. It's not surprising that he went off his meds. I know mentally ill people do a lot of times.

  3. I love how authentic your neighbor is with the porn, and the honesty! And boy do I love the palm trees. If we even had one growing in Minnesota, we'd all come and see it like Time square xmas tree.

  5. Too bad that sister isn't around to make him take his meds all the time. Maybe you wouldn't have to listen to him.

  6. First of all, I can't believe management decided to do something about anything, which says how serious the situation is. As for sister, she did try. If he chooses to get angry with her, go the eviction route instead, that's on him.

  7. Oh, that's so sad but at least the daughter is trying to help him. It's amazing what a change can happen when people go off their meds. And at least you know what's happening now with them trying to evict him.

    72 sounds nice.

    1. He's mentally ill. Probably has schizophrenia. it's not really his fault. he should be more strictly under a therapists care though.

  17. I used to work as a caseworker for a lot of people with various mental illnesses. A lot of the medications have horrible side effects but things don't go well when someone just stops taking them. I hope that you have a great week!

    1. Yeah, that's the truth. I'm actually taking Risperidone for schizotypal personality disorder. The side effects are hard to get used to but it helps so I keep taking it. I can understand someone that wants to stop taking their medication though.

  18. That's too bad that he won't stay on his meds regularly. Hopefully he can find peace within himself so you all can have some peace too.

  19. This seems to be a common problem, that people stop taking their meds and lapse into wild anti-social behaviour. No doubt there will be a recurrence sooner or later.

  21. That's sad about the neighbor who stopped his meds - mentally ill individuals do this all the time and it's so hard. I think it's because the medicine tends to have so many negative side effects that they want off of it and fool themselves into thinking, "I feel fine, I don't need this." So sad :(
