Apartment Life #298
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.
As I was walking Falcor, I saw one of my neighbors going into the ambulance. She said that the nurse who came to see her hadn't got all the glass out of her foot and she had shooting pains in her leg. I talked to her the next day and she said the doctor pulled the rest of the glass out of her foot and it was really deep in there. The nurse had left some in there. One of my neighbors actually took this picture and sent it to my daughter. All the people around here are taking pictures now. lol
You may remember a few weeks ago I showed you how the raw sewage was leaking out all over the rocks at the end of the building in this post. Well, instead of cleaning it up or scooping out the nasty rocks that the raw sewage got all over, the maintenance guy just poured new rocks over the old ones. It looks like they fixed the leak though. But now there's a bigger pile of rocks there. They could have at least thrown away the nasty rocks first.
----
Last Sunday night I was walking Falcor by these bushes and it was already dark out. As I walked up to the bushes, three heads pop up behind the bushes and scared the crap out of me. You can kinda see that there's enough room between the bushes and the wall behind them for someone to be hiding back there. One guy says, "How you doing tonight. I replied, "I'm good, how are you?" He holds up the aluminum foil he has in his hands that he has a lighter underneath, lighting whatever drugs were in it and says, "I'll be better in a minute."
Then I noticed the needles on the ground next to the guys and how they all had drugs out and were lighting the foil they had them in. I just ignored it and kept walking. These three guys are routinely at drug dealer's apartment.
----
The guy from a couple of weeks ago was back out here passed out on the sidewalk like he's sunbathing poolside or something. Got too high and couldn't make it home I guess. he's fine, he woke up a little while later and walked himself home.
The high this week was 86F/30C
The low this week was 55F/12C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Seeing heads poke up from behind the bushes would scare the crap out of me...
ReplyDeleteGood that the glass is finally gone from your neighbour's foot.
Oh it definitely scared me for a second. But they only cared about their drugs.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine the pain your neighbor was in walking around with glass embedded deep in her foot. How did that happen? Did she break a window or mirror in her unit?
Those stones are gross. "Mr. Goodwrench," your illustrious maintenance man, deserves an A+++ for simply covering them up with fresh stones. Seems like the guy specializes in sweeping things under the rug.
If I were out walking my dog after dark, I would find is disconcerting to have heads pop up behind a bush. What a life! Seems like that guy who can't make it home after visiting the drug dealer's pad has found a sidewalk segment to call his very own. A scene like that would give the Vegas Chamber of Commerce something to boast about in their literature.
Have a safe and happy week, dear friend Mary!
There was some glass outside and it got in her sandal. Yeah maintenance here is a joke.
DeleteCareful where you walk Falcor - those three guys could've overwhelmed you.
ReplyDeleteI always try to be careful. The drug addicts are all over though.
DeleteI would have freaked out. I’m sorry you can’t just walk your dog in peace.
ReplyDeleteThe homeless and drug addicts are all over around here.
Deleteshards of glass sound painful. I had an exciting thing happen in my building this week. a random stranger walked in my apartment and scared me half to death(half joking) but I guess he made the mistake of wrong apartment.
ReplyDeleteI've had that happen before.
DeleteWow! That's pretty scary about the guys suddenly appearing from behind the bushes. Thank goodness they were just friendly druggies, but now you know to be careful walking through that area. I had to laugh about all the neighbors taking pics. I wonder how many around here are doing the same with our Karen.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they cut the bushes back again but I doubt it. I laughed about the neighbors taking pics too.
DeleteThe one guy you talked to with the foil reminds me of a character I read in the book Crank. Drug addicts are really all the same... my elder brother and sister are that way.
ReplyDeleteThey sure can be. It's sad you have siblings that are going though that too.
Deleteand life goes on. :)
ReplyDeletePretty much.
DeleteThat place is insane
ReplyDeleteIt is.
DeleteIt's crazy how many drug users hang out near your apartment complex!
ReplyDeleteWell I know of two drug dealing apartments in my complex so it's really no wonder.
Delete"One guy says, "How you doing tonight. I replied, "I'm good, how are you?""
ReplyDeleteGoodness, such aplomb. I don't know how you deal with all this. Then again, at least those guys are only interested in their drugs...
I think I've gotten used to it.
Deletei love how you handle things. have a good week
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
Thank you.
DeleteOh no I'm glad they finally got all the glass out! Yeesh.
ReplyDeleteDoing drugs behind the bushes... good grief.
I am too. They do drugs anywhere they can.
DeleteThose three heads popping up from behind the bushes would have caused the rocks to get stinky again!

DeleteYour apt complex is really something. Heads popping up from behind bushes would be so startling! And eww, that's terrible about those sewage rocks.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the sewage rocks will dry up in the 118 heat this Summer and won't be a problem. Oh they scared me for sure.
DeleteOh no no no. I would have freaked out if people popped out behind bushed while I was walking my dog at night.
ReplyDeleteGotta be ready for just about anything around here.
DeleteI hope your neighbor with glass doesn't get any infection.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
She seems to be fine now.
DeleteI would be just as scared if three heads popped up from behind some bushes! The whole drugs scene has got totally out of control.
ReplyDeleteYeah it really has.
DeleteIt is not unusual to smell pot in my neighborhood but I don't know what I would do if I saw people hiding behind a bush to shoot up. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI don't care if people smoke pot but having people pop up behind the bushes because they are shooting up is on another level .
DeleteStay safe. 😯
ReplyDeleteI will try.
