Apartment Life #410
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.
Maintenance covered my window and a bunch of the wall so they could paint some of the white part of the wall that was flaking off. But they started at 6AM and were pounding on my window AC and my window at 6AM! I was mad when I got up and threw open the curtains and saw maintenance standing there.
He smiled and waved at me. 🤣🤣🤣 Like, "Good morning" It was not a good day to be woke up at 6AM. I had a kidney infection and a cold this past 2 weeks. Sorry I haven't been visiting your blogs as much in this time. I'll catch back up when I feel better.
This complex with the orange roof also was bought by our new owner and my new manager is their new apartment manager too. This apartment complex is right next to mine. So maintenance started painting their buildings the same color as ours this week. So to prevent any overspray from getting on the 3 cars in the street, they wrapped the cars in plastic.
The owner of the middle car came out to walk her dog and lost her mind when she saw plastic on her car. She started yelling at the guy who was on the ladder and started ripping the plastic off. The guy on the ladder didn't speak English so he went and got another guy who was trying to tell her why they wrapped the cars in plastic while they were spraying paint on the building.
But all she kept yelling was, "Keep your MFing hands off of people's cars."
The high this week was 84F/28C
The low this week was 49F/9C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Even if you were feeling well having someone beating on your window at 6:00 in the morning it's definitely not the way to be woke up. Hope you get the feeling better much sooner.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I hope so too.
DeleteI guess wrapping the cars was a good idea to protect them. But put a sticker or something on them so folks know! I doubt I'd have reacted like that. I'd have asked the guys for help removing it!
ReplyDeleteHighs of 28C...please send some of that good weather over here Mary. We've had highs of about 10C but heavy rain!
That woman was so mad. It was obvious to me what was going on.
DeleteThey could've just notified everyone not to park there or blocked it off. She might've been mad about the the plastic but she'd been madder about paint on her car.
ReplyDeleteSorry you've been ill!
You would think but they haven't been notifying anyone of any of the painting.
DeleteI’m laughing about the cars. They should have blocked off those parking spaces ahead of time. 🙄 I’m sorry to hear about the kidney infection and I hope you’re better soon,
ReplyDeleteYeah they should have planned better. Thank you.
DeleteI hope you soon feel better.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteWhat a day! I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you.

ReplyDeleteA 6 a.m. start is never good, especially when you're unwell. I hope you feel better very soon.
Thank you.
DeleteYou would think 6 AM wouldn't even happen. And they sure don't fill you in on what's going on, do they? It sounds very frustrating. I hope March goes a lot more smoothly.
ReplyDelete6AM is too early.
DeleteI mean...why on earth do they start working at 6 AM in your corner of the woods? and don't they put on any sign to let people know their windows will be taped on and their cars wrapped in plastic? Insane.
ReplyDeleteI can picture the guy making a friendly wave at you from the other side of your window at 6 AM 😂. Little did he know how furious you were...
I hope you're on the mends now! A kidney infection sounds serious.
The kidney infection was very painful. They should have planned better.
DeleteThank you.
6 AM is pretty flippen early. I don't understand why the girl was mad about the plastic. I think it was pretty nice of the workers to do that. Sorry you have been ill. I hope your are better by now. Sending healing energy to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI'm not sure she realized what they were trying to do.
Sorry they woke you so early!
ReplyDeleteBack in 1989 my brand new beautiful blue car had overspray of babyshit brown paint because the dipshits painted our apartment building and didn't bother saying anything to the residents. I would have moved my damn car. Then they came up with all kinds of excuses about why they weren't going to pay for the damages. Assholes. That car got totaled in 1995.
ReplyDeleteIf someone wakes me up at 6 AM I might have to kill them.
Hope you're feeling better, that kind of infection is NOT FUN.
And I hope you're sleeping in!!!
You'd think the lady would be grateful her car wasn't getting sprayback from the painting. Although, if you didn't know your car was wrapped in plastic and had to get to somewhere on time it might be an issue. A kidney infection is no fun! Very painful! I had one years ago and it was because I didn't drink enough water at the time (I now drink boatloads!). Hope you feel better, Mary!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better really soon. That wild lady deserves to get her car painted.
ReplyDeleteSorry you haven't been feeling well; hope this week is better! (And I kind of hope paint got on that woman's car. ;D )
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. I hope that you are recovering. I was in Florida last weekend for Coastal Magic Con, but then there was a huge snow storm in the Northeast and I got stuck there until Thursday night. I'm so behind on everything!
ReplyDeleteMost places have regulations about when work crews can start and stop. I am confident none of them set a start time of 6 am!
ReplyDelete6AM pounding on the window would’ve had me seeing red too.
ReplyDeleteEspecially when you’re not feeling well, that’s the last thing anyone needs.
The car situation cracked me up though--good idea in theory, but they really should’ve warned people first.
Hope you’re on the mend soon, Mary.
I mean, I'd appreciate not getting paint on my car, but I guess I'm weird? Sorry they started at 6AM. Why do they always have to do work very early when you're feeling poorly? I hope you're now on the mend.
