Apartment Life #427
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.
---
This week I bought a few things from Amazon. It was supposed to be delivered on the 30th but it got delivered on the 29th and 9:30PM...to the wrong apartment.
So when I saw it, I went over to that apartment and knocked on the door and asked for my package. She told me that there was no package there, that she never got my package. I told her that I had the picture the driver took and she said, Yeah, they always have a picture but that my damn package wasn't there.
So I left. But another of my packages last month had been left at her door and once again she said she never got it. I know she's lying but whatever.
I called Amazon and they sent a replacement for all the stuff I ordered. But I made a complaint and said that we now have building numbers and apartment numbers right next to our doors so there shouldn't be any misdelivered deliveries. She said she would add that to my account. We will see.
But now I know to watch out for the woman thief who is keeping my packages when they are mis-delivered to her door.
I see a bunch of the homeless people going to her door and hanging out there, so there's that. The whole thing just really made me mad.
The high this week was 105F/40C
The low this week was 72F/22C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

That is so aggravating. It's bad enough having things delivered to the wrong place, but for people to deny they're got them is just wrong.
ReplyDeleteIt really is aggravating.
DeleteHate thieves 😡
ReplyDeleteI do too.
DeleteI hate people. Thgat really sucks.
ReplyDeleteIt was so rude of her.
DeleteSome people suck. Let management know.
ReplyDeleteI will but management won't do anything.
DeleteI am always so disappointed with people that can be so dishonest and liars. That they think they're due everything they can steal for free. While the rest of us have had to work all of our life to be able to afford to buy things. I hope Amazon can get packages to your apartment better now. It's ridiculous that they didn't in the first place.
ReplyDeleteI am too.
DeleteYou should send yourself a nicely packaged poop or something nasty like that so that she gets a lovely surprise when it gets misdelivered.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea.
DeleteI hope that is sorted now. We’ve had a couple of deliveries recently with one more on the way.
ReplyDeleteYes, thankfully Amazon resent the items.
DeleteYou need to post a sign in your yard … with arrows pointing to the thief, “AMAZON deliver over here, not there, she keeps my misdelivered packages”. It’s not illegal to do so and may embarrass her enough to stop stealing or move, which would be even better.
ReplyDeleteHa, management would just take it down.
DeleteAwful Mary so sorry
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteUgh. That has got to be frustrating. Thank goodness Amazon replaces things.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm glad I was able to get it resent.
DeleteUgh, but why am I not surprised? I think I have lost a lot of my faith in humanity these past few years. I've seen some interesting incidents posted on Nextdoor, too. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteNothing surprises me anymore.
DeleteBootsAndBraids above has a point LOL. Seriously...At least Amazon sent replacements.
ReplyDeletelol Yes, they did.
DeleteWhat a shame. I am glad you're getting replacements, but doing that just increases the cost everyone has to pay.
ReplyDeleteProbably.
DeleteSome people are just trash. I've accidentally opened packages that were misdelivered to my house because I order so much for my business that I never look at the address. I just assume it's mine. Once I realize it is not mine, I tape it back up and pop it on the porch of where it was supposed to be. I can't imagine keeping something that clearly isn't mine.
ReplyDeleteShe was so rude too.
DeleteOh, I'd be mad too! Do you have any cameras that catch her front door? I guess, that probably wouldn't make any difference. She'd probably lie even if you had more evidence.
ReplyDeleteNo, she's in the next building over.
DeleteYep, me too, I would be pretty angry about that. Amazon drivers can be not so smart sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThere's brand new signage on the door with the building and apartment number.
DeleteAmazon drivers are the worst sometimes 📦
ReplyDeleteYes they sure are.
DeleteYikes. You're sure it wasn't a homeless person picking it up? Likely her, though. Very annoying.
ReplyDeleteNot sure, but she does have a lot of homeless people coming and going from her apartment.
DeleteEven though my delivery instructions all say to my my packages on our enclosed porch on the bench next to my door, our landlord now has a bike on the porch so he's been closing the door to to the porch, and both of my last deliveries from Walmart have been left on the front steps within easy reach of the sidewalk. Our immediate neighborhood is still pretty okay, but it lies between a main thoroughfare and the hood, so a lot of sketchy people pass through all the time. 📦
ReplyDeleteGood to hear they replace your items. 👍
That's annoying.
DeleteOh gosh, I would be annoyed as well that thieving women. Apart from the stress it's causing you Amazon are being good about it as you didn't receive their /your goods, but it's costing Amazon more...let's hope they the delivery person gets it right next time, Mary.
ReplyDeleteIt was annoying.
DeleteI once had a prom star neighbor but she didn't steal
ReplyDeleteAt least she didn't steal.
DeleteI try to avoid getting things delivered because the deliveries are so unreliable. We've been waiting several days for a Royal Mail delivery. On Saturday they claimed they couldn't deliver the parcel because our house was "inaccessible". It's never been inaccessible, they're just playing silly buggers.
ReplyDeleteThat's really annoying.
DeleteCan't trust anyone these days.
ReplyDeletePopping in to say hello! That is very irritating about the deliveries. I've not had issues with Amazon delivery, but when they send it via USPS, that's when we have problems!
ReplyDeleteUGH! That thief
