This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 20 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 20 years here in a weekly blog post.
This week I have another video for you that I took a couple of years ago.
The police helicopter was flying around my neighborhood so I took some video of it. Then the police showed up and I filmed them. When the police officer came to talk to me he held his flashlight in just the right way so that I couldn't film him. Then later he shined the flashlight my way again and the people around me, mainly the lady who was standing in front of me, Mary Martin who was my apartment manager at the time, got nervous and asked me to stop filming. The police arrested a man who used to live next door to me but he was caught jumping out the window because he wasn't supposed to be there.
There always seems to be something crazy going on around my street and this was just another day for us around here. But now you know why I don't go out and take more video of the police or the people around here...they don't like it.

DeleteLOL, no I imagine they don't want to be on candid camera. You reminded me when you mentioned the copter that I remember hearing and seeing the policy copter at night all the time growing up in California, but they don't really use one around my area in Michigan. Maybe it's the weather or resource issues... not sure.

DeleteThey'd probably shoot people for video taping them these days, lucky indeed. They sure left the dude outside the car forever.

DeleteLOL! I've seen that LIVE PD has been in Nevada, so they agree to being filmed all the time. The importance is your safety overall. Hugs...RO

DeleteSome cops don't realize that a person has every right to film them at all times.
ReplyDeleteThe only catch is that you are compelled to give them a copy to use as evidence if needed
Oh they know we can film them but they have no problem shining a flash light at you to mess it up.

ReplyDeletePersonally, one of the craziest ones I've ever had was three copters flying in a triangle formation some hundred yards from my house and having, like, 8 cop cars all stopped in the intersection next to my house because of a high-speed chase.
Those high speed chases are crazy. I see the police around here so much these days that it never surprises me anymore.

DeleteWas the cop telling you at the end, "you and I have an issue...."? WTF? I feel like doing a post on problems we've had with cops over the last few decades!
ReplyDeleteLOL No that was my hubby telling me that you an I have an issue. He never wants me to film the police because they act like asses when you do.

DeleteI remember some pretty crazy things at apartments when I lived in one—and then there was the day I came home for lunch and got ready to leave with a host of meetings in the afternoon only to find the way out of the apartments blocked by fire trucks and hoses and a building on fire (it was weird). Another time, a bunch of folks set the asphalt on fire when they decided to have a bonfire... I was with a bunch of pyromaniacs, I think. Be safe!

ReplyDeleteThere were so many cops and so many other people out filming I just figured that no one would notice. I was wrong.

DeleteCops really are funny about being filmed and I think they are getting worse with all of the cops getting caught being aggressive or killing people.

DeleteI think the craziest neighbor I ever had was the one that was shooting bottle rockets off in the street by himself until 3 am. A lot tamer than your neighbors, for sure!
