Review: The Virgin Hunt Games by Mel Teshco
Book Description
EARTH, YEAR 2324
Melody Simmons desperately needs to fill her bank accounts with credits that could help her family climb out of near poverty. And in the Virgin Hunt Games, that means enticing as many hunters as possible to bed her. The downside? Billions of viewers from all parts of the galaxy would be watching her fall from virtue with avid interest.
Alien Damon Banscott despises everything about the Virgin Hunt Games. Except the fact he can now legally destroy his enemy in the games. He is in this only for revenge. Then Damon sees one of the beautiful hunted and, for a moment, his heart stops beating. He’ll fight to the death before allowing another hunter to touch and deflower Melody.
But while the hunters get more credits by pleasing their captive mate sexually, the hunted women received more by finding their pleasure with any of the hunters who weren’t their assigned mate.
The hunt is on…
My Review
Damon is taking part in the Virgin Hunt Games because his enemy was there as well. While Melody was there to make as much money as she could to help her family.
There are the hunters and the hunted in these games. There are ten of each. The goal is for the hunters to capture their intended hunted and have sex with them bringing them as much pleasure as possible. The hunted try to either have sex with as many of the hunters as possible while keeping away from their intended or they can get extra points for having kinky sex. They make more money for doing different things during the games and evading capture for the full 7 days from their intended would be one of the ways to make a lot of money. The women (hunted) are there to lose their virginity on intergalactic tv and make money doing it while the hunters are there to give the women as much pleasure as possible. They get more money the more orgasms they give the hunted. Think Hunger Games but they aren't trying to kill each other. At least they aren't supposed to but Damon wants Bastion dead for killing his father.
Damon decides to first get revenge by taking Bastion's intended mate who ends up being Melody. At first all he wants is to be the first to have sex with her and keep her away from Bastion but as the days go on, he starts to feel more and more for her. Because the producers throw dangerous situations at the participants, both Melody and Damon have situations where they end up saving the other one from certain death which only strengthens their bond. Some of the hunters aren't really bad guys but hunters like Bastion and a couple of the others don't care about the hunted or playing fair. Bastion is a real jerk and Melody was lucky that Damon helped her evade him throughout the games.
Damon and Melody are great together and I really liked that underneath the gruff surface, Damon was a really good guy. He just wanted what was best for his people and to get revenge for his father's murder. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this story but it was told so well that I actually felt like I was watching a tv show or movie. I really liked the characters because they were all so different and different kinds of aliens.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Disclosure: I was given an e-ARC via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
