Apartment Life #317
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.
I heard a bunch of noise outside my bedroom window at 7am one morning (Last Week) and saw this. I didn't readily know what they were doing. I didn't post this last week because my post was already so long.
The crane swung it to the apartment's across from me.
In this heat, I guess the air conditioning unit they had wasn't working well.
So the owner had to replace it with a new one.
---
My camera doesn't take great pictures at night but I was able to get a picture of this police car that parked here after the police helicopter had been up shining its light on my street for a few minutes. The cop got out and came into my courtyard somewhere but I didn't see where.
The high this week was 103F/39C
The low this week was 80F/26C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Your temperatures are much hotter than I like. I do hope you can stay cool.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a crane used to replace an air conditioner here.
They are hot but this is usually the hottest month of the year with 118 temps, so I will take what we have been getting.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteSeems like you had a quiet week on the block immediately following that wild week. Yessum, it becomes a pressing matter when the air conditioner malfunctions in triple digit heat. As a longtime Florida resident, I've been there. It's nice to see they arrived early in the morning to install a new unit before the sun rose high in the sky.
It must be disconcerting to have a helicopter hover above in the nighttime sky and shine a searchlight on your street followed by the arrival of a patrol car and a search of the courtyard. One of your neighbors must have reported suspicious or unlawful behavior, but apparently the wrongdoers were already in the wind when the cops arrived.
Have a safe and happy week, dear friend Mary.
I'm glad you liked this song.
DeleteA quiet week!
ReplyDeleteYes, for a change.
DeleteIt was...a chill week LOL. Except for the 7 a.m. activity, that is. (Do you ever get some proper sleep around there?).
ReplyDeleteI hope the next one will follow this pattern...
They had to get it done before it got real hot I am sure.
DeleteWhat an interesting thing to see that AC coming in. This week my son got to see how a tree was chopped down and he was excited.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he liked that.
DeleteThe AC units are rather passe where I live. There are all kinds of novelties , mainly mobile.
ReplyDeleteit depends on if you have central AC or a window air conditioner here. These air conditioners are for central ac.
DeleteYou frequently see cop cars, but they never seem to do anything of substance, except chase that poor RV guy away. Maybe someone is making donuts and they're stopping by to grab a few.
ReplyDeleteYeah they don't do much once they get here.
DeleteThe police there are sure busy. I'll bet somebody was happy to see a new AC unit arriving!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they are cooler now.
DeleteThankfully a quieter week for you!
ReplyDeleteyes, thankfully.
DeleteInteresting how they installed the new A/C unit. I remember when the sheriff's copter used to shine the light down on our neighborhood at night and help the cars on the ground when I lived in Sacramento.
ReplyDeleteSo you know how it is then. Happens all the time around here.
DeleteWow 103 is stifiling hot. hope your apartment has a pool.
ReplyDeleteIt has a pool but it hasn't been open in years even though they have it as an amenity in the ads for this complex.
DeleteThank goodness you have air conditioning! 🥵
ReplyDeleteHave w wonderful week. 🌞
Yes, it would be hard without air conditioning.
DeleteInteresting how they installed the air-con unit.
ReplyDeleteI would bake at 103!
That's not even as hot as it gets here.
DeleteDon't you just love it when trucks make noise in front of your house at 7am? I woke up this morning to neighbour cutting tiles for his entrance way with a circular saw throwing clouds of dust at our house. I then swept the dust and threw it onto his car LOL
ReplyDeleteOh no. LOL
DeleteYou have to have air when it reaches 103 degrees!
ReplyDeleteYes, you really do.
DeleteWell that's one way to deliver an air conditioner I guess! :)
ReplyDeleteThe only way to get it on the roof.
DeleteThat must be a pretty big air conditioner if a crane was needed to deliver it!
ReplyDeleteYeah it was really big and heavy and it sits on top of the roof so that's the only way to get them up there.
Deleteyes I am worried about when my second floor AC needs to be replaced because I am sure that's how it got there when the house was built! Wow you are still hot. We are actually at 76 today. Yeah!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
We stay hot until October.
DeleteThose big AC's that sit on the roof have to be installed with a crane. No other way to get them up there.
It is always interesting to see things delivered by crane. They had to use one to lift my friend's hot tub over the top of her house to her back deck!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I never would have thought that either.
DeleteLow 26c, omg so hot
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's still hot here.
DeleteI hoped it helped with the cooling. That's something! Looks like the temps are cooling a bit in your area. I'm looking forward to Fall!
ReplyDeleteIt's cooler but much more humid.
DeleteI'm behind in visits AGAIN. Sounds like it was a quieter week, overall. I hope things stay calm for a bit.
ReplyDeleteA few quiet weeks would be nice.
