Saturday Vittles
My daughter and I are trying to eat healthier, so I am sharing some of the dishes that we are eating each week.
I told you a while back we have been eating these small plates of food for lunch. I thought I would show you a couple more since we bought a few new things to go on them.
This one has:
Artichoke hearts, black olives. green olives, pickled cocktail onions, raspberries, blueberries, picked spicy vegetables, and strawberries.
It's filling and it tastes good. I like changing up what we put on the plates so there's a variety of different things. You can change this up to suit your own tastes.
Here's a different one we had on another day.
It has dried apricots, sliced radish, pickle spears, black olives, green olives, pickled spicy vegetables, sliced baby cucumber, chopped dates rolled in oat flour, and pretzel crisps.
Would you eat this? Do you like artichoke hearts?

I love a cold plate when it's hot. Quick and easy
ReplyDeleteThese are quick and easy.
DeleteLots of variety there! I don't know if I've ever eaten an artichoke heart. I like the flavour of artichoke dip, though.
ReplyDeleteYou might like artichoke hearts then.
DeleteI'd happily eat both yes! :-D
ReplyDeleteGood to know.
DeleteSuch a good habit, healthy foods.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We are trying.
DeleteThat looks so refreshing and tasty.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We are having fun finding things to add to the plates.
DeleteWell that looks very healthy!
ReplyDeleteIt is and it's good.
DeleteSome very peculiar combos indeed, how do the strozzberries match with cocktail onions? LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL I have weird taste?
DeleteI would eat this, thought maybe not everything
ReplyDeleteThat's ok. You can add what you like.
DeleteI LOVE artichokes hearts! I have them in my pasta, with feta cheese, cherry tomatoes and olives. A recipe of my invention. What you ate is a mezze, right? We used to order some in a Greek cafe. Delicious, but frugal and a tad expensive.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good. Artichokes are so good. A Mezze? I had to Google that and it sure sounds like it. I had no idea there was name for this.
DeleteThis is nice and simple and filled with things I love!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI really like artichoke hearts too but maybe I would pass on the onion.
ReplyDeleteThat's ok. Thank you.
DeleteWhat a fun lunch plate!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThese are perfect for lunch. OMGosh you could be my daughter LOL My Son will be 57 in May. That makes me feel so old. LOL
ReplyDeletelmao My daughter is 34. Makes me feel old.
DeleteI love artichoke hearts, the ones from fresh cooked artichokes and the marinated ones. I like the marinated ones in pasta salad. Not much for onions. I use onion powder for the taste, and use it for cooking when either it breaks down, like in chili or stew, or I can avoid it, like big pieces in fajitas. My oldest will be 45 this year!
ReplyDeleteI don't really like raw onions but the pickled ones are so good. I'm 56 right now.
DeleteArtichokes are something I've never eaten as far as I can recall. Looks good your food.
ReplyDeleteThey are so good. I get the whole ones and boil them until they're tender.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteIt all looks yummy except for the artichokes.
It is a healthy meal. Have a great day and a happy week ahead.
