Falcor was very happy to get a toy.

He ran around with it for about 5 minutes.

Then he started chewing it...

My Review

I have a small dog that weighs less than 10 lbs and he chewed and tore this toy to pieces in less than an hour. The first thing that came off was the rope. He chewed it for a few minutes and got almost the entire thing detached from the toy. The only part of the rope left was the part that was still inside the toy and I had rope strings all over my floor within minutes.

I really don't think it's safe for dogs to be chewing on rope strings because they can swallow them which could cause an obstruction. So I picked all that up and threw it away. Then he attacked/chewed a hole in the rear of the duck where the rope had been attached and started pulling out the stuffing.

I pulled out a bunch of the stuffing and gave it back to him. Within a couple of minutes he had shredded the back end of the toy and had small strings and shredded material all over the floor. It was at this point that I threw the toy away. Which was less than an hour after I gave it to him. So I really can't recommend this toy because it's not very durable.

You can find this toy here. It was going for $13.95 at the time I got it which was a bit much for a toy that lasted less than an hour.

Disclosure: I was given this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

The poor duck was destroyed. It never had a chance.

  1. The only toys that have ever really stood up to Tara's chewing on them are the Kong toys. We've got two of the black Extreme Kongs and a Kong Wobbler which is great fun to watch her with.

    1. I ended up buying two Kong toys and those are lasting. He won't be chewing those up.

  3. I was going to say that the duck wasn't going to last long.

  4. My dog loves plush toys. He is a 70 pound Australian Cattle Dog. So, he is a working type, high energy dog. He likes to just pick them up and carry them around. He actually wears out the squeakers in them before he tears up the plush parts. He doesn't like the tougher toys like Kongs and other plastic or rubbery toys. I do buy him antler pieces which he loves.

Funny how different dogs do different things. My mom's dachshund destroys plush toys. I save the toys with worn out squeakers for when he visits.

  6. My dog (who is 60 pounds) has never cared for toys, but thankfully hasn't been much of a chewer.

  8. Wow that duck really didn't stand a chance. It's a shame it lasted only an hour, it did look nice at least, but it doens't sound very safe or durable.

  9. If your little dog destroyed it in an hour, this is definitely not for the larger dogs in our family. Yeah, I'd be picking up bits, too. Durable is the big thing for buying our dog toys. :)

  10. I thought to myself before I even got to your review that Bella would destroy that toy in no time.

  11. Oo yeah that doesn't sound like a good one if you have a chewer and that the rope came off like that is concerning :/
