Favorite Picture of the Week
Earlier this month Ken spent 10 days in California dog/house sitting for his sister and brother in law. So it was just Falcor and I for 10 days. I didn't want him getting bored so I made a few new toys for him including an empty plastic water bottle which he never gets bored with and then I made a huge ice cube for him to play with or lick or whatever. At first he just stared at it and when it popped because it was melting, Falcor started barking at it.
Here he was waiting for it to start popping and crackling again. He stared at it for a good 2 minutes and then walked around it.
After about 30 minutes he sniffed it and started licking it. Silly dog.
And this is one of the dogs that Ken was dog sitting for.

My late dog used to love ice. I'd put some in her water bowl as well
ReplyDeleteI've tried giving Falcor an ice cube but he'll run with it and then watch it melt into the carpet. lol
Deletehaha sure gave him something fun to do. Both look like happy pups too.
ReplyDeleteHe had fun with it and then ignored it. They are both happy pups.
DeleteOh that's too funny! I wondered about the big ice blocks and trying them for the herd. Do you make them with balloons?
ReplyDeleteThat's real nice Ken is able to do that for his siblings. Cute pup, too!
I just filled one of my plastic bowls with water and froze it. I didn't have any balloons. lol
DeleteThat is some seriously cool fun!
ReplyDeleteHe had fun with it.
DeleteSounds like it was a win win for you! I hope Ken had a blast in CA and that puppy is lucky to have him
ReplyDeleteI had a nice vacation as well. lol Unfortunately 2 days before he left I fell down and broke my toe and sprained my elbow so I was in pain but I'm feeling better now.
DeleteIs it dumb that I would think his tongue could get stuck to the ice? LOL . . . I've never had a pet, Mary!
ReplyDeleteNever had any kind of pet? You could start out with a fish. I had poured water over it to get it out of the bowl so no chance of his tongue sticking to it. lol
DeleteIt's the simple things that amuse animals!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is.
DeleteI remember I had an old lab who loved to play with ice; notably ice runoff in a river. He'd love to bounce it about and grab it then throw it.
ReplyDeleteI've given mine ice cube and he just watches them melt. lol
DeleteAww, so cute. It was nice of you to try to find things to entertain him.

ReplyDeleteHe loves saying hi to new people.
DeleteYeah, the weirder the new thing the better when it comes to toys.
ReplyDeleteYou came up with an idea...giving ice to dogs in hot weather is a way of getting them to keep cool too.
ReplyDeleteYeah and he had fun playing with it.
DeleteIt's so much fun to watch a dog's reactions. I'm glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun, you never know what they'll do. Thanks, I am feeling better.
