Favorite Picture of the Week

We don't get a lot of cloud cover this time of year usually so when it does happen I'm happy about it. It helps on the hot days.

A few clouds during the day can help when the sun is beating down on you.

On Monday there were a few clouds at sunset.

But on Tuesday there were so many more big clouds at sunset. The wind was blowing and I saw lightning off in the distance. Of course we didn't get any rain but when I walked Falcor at 8PM it was only 90F/32C which was nicer than it had been during the day. It was a lot hotter that day.

At least we still get a few cloudy days and nights. I'll take it. I'm not a sunshiny day type person, can you tell? lol All those bright blue skies and sunshine all day is just not for me. I will take a cloudy, dreary, overcast day anytime over those bright sunshine days. I know I'm the complete opposite of most people. That's ok. I never proclaimed to be normal.

  1. I can't stand the glare either. Much happier with cloudy days like in your pictures.

  2. I think you live in the wrong part of the country! Need to live somewhere like Washington or Oregon.

  3. You are not alone. I like those soft grey days too - and loathe excessive heat.

    The scenes look good, Mary.

  5. I can understand getting tired of the hot sun with no cloud cover and no rain. But up here we only get an average of 100 days per year of any kind of sunshine. That's not very much let me tell you. But it has been Sunny for four whole days this week. I did send my address so I hope you got the email. Thanks again

  8. Our sky has been cloudless but smoky lately. The sun was that odd orange form the firer last night.

  9. We got clouds yesterday, too. And thunder. And... rain? We had a surprise downpour. (At least, it was a surprise to me.)

  11. Bet you are praying for rain on a daily basis, I know I do when the summer hits us hard. Everything is already semiscorched even though we have only had a few days now above 30C. I am just waiting for the mosquitos to appear. They haven't sprayed them yet in my city.

    1. It would be nice if they sprayed for them here but they don't. Yes, rain would be nice but the only problem is that would make it hot and humid and humidity and heat are awful together.

  13. Ah, too bad you didn't get rain from those big gray ones. LOL, I'm another cloudy day fan! That's because I don't like the heat.

  23. I'm like you. I love gray, cooler days. Add in some rain and I am in heaven. I told my husband I'd love to move to Ireland since they seem to get so much rain.
