Book Review: The Alien's Allegiance by Calla Zae

Book Description

"She arrived on this new planet with two hot suns, but it was this blue warrior who burned away all her doubts."

As Captain of the Norakian warriors, Kazstrom anticipates the upcoming competition that can promote him to be the next General of his legion. But a poisonous wound threatens to eliminate his dream. The hunt for a cure leads him to Earth, where he encounters an alluring human female who not only possesses the moonstone he desperately needs, but she also ignites something deep within him. Intrigued, he is compelled to protect her from enemies who are after the same moonstone.

Teegan, a second-grade teacher, is drowning in debt and doubt after a failed engagement when a stunning star-being asks her to go to his planet and heal him. With nothing to lose, she decides a mini out-of-this-world adventure with Kazstrom is the exact escape required to alleviate her life’s issues. But her heart has its own plans and tosses her into an escalating romance filled with danger that will leave them both shattered if they are not careful.

As Kazstrom battles his worst enemy to protect his starmate, Teegan must find her warrior spirit to defend the star-being she has come to love.

My Review

Several aliens come into Teegan's shop looking for the stone that she is wearing around her neck in a necklace. Kaz keeps the other aliens away and she agrees to go with him in order to keep her safe. After learning that he was told the moonstone can heal his wound, she tries to help but the moonstone which talks to her at times, doesn't help heal him. Instead the moonstone tells her that there is another way for his wound to be healed and they set off to outer space to find a healer who he thinks might be able to heal the wound. Along the way they encounter some interesting aliens and danger but the romance between them fell kinda flat for me.

The moonstone has its own mission though and uses Teegan and Kaz to get it done but for a good reason. Now this story starts off really good and the story had promise to be really good but after the first couple of chapters is slowed down and the engagement just wasn't there for me anymore. While the ending was good and I liked how it ended, it took a while to get to that point and I found myself bored and putting the book down several times. I'm glad I finished it but it wasn't as good or as entertaining as I had hoped it would be when I first started reading it.

I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.
