Would You Have A Relationship With Your Father If You Were The Product Of A Rape?

Warning: This is a rant from me. I will be talking about a touchy subject "Rape", if this bothers you, please don't read this post.

I have a question for you all. If you found out that your mother had been raped and that you were the product of that rape...would you try and find your biological father and his family?

I have a family member, my half brother who has done this and I feel betrayed by it. Maybe I have no right to feel this way, but I do. Our mom is gone now and it seems like as soon as she died he changed and make it impossible for my younger brother and I to have a relationship with him.

So we don't talk to him anymore because of everything he's done and now I find out he's talking to his bio dad's kids and calling them brother ect. I don't know how a person can do that.

Obviously he wasn't happy with the family he has in us, maybe we weren't the type of family he was looking for. Maybe he has more in common with a rapists family than he did with us.

I can't be the only one who thinks this is a really weird thing to do, that you would have to really have something wrong with you personally to think this is ok. I know my mom wanted him to have nothing to do with his biological father and family and he kept saying he wanted nothing to do with them, but I guess he lied to my mom about that too.

Some bridges can't be mended, some things can't be taken back...and this for me, is one of them.

  1. Wow, not really sure what his thought process could be leading up to that. I'm a very very VERY unforgiving person, so NO I would not have anything to do with a rapist, especially one that hurt my mother. :/

Sorry you're going through something like this.

  2. Thank you. I can forgive some things...but not this.

  3. I'm sorry, I could never connect to a bio dad who was a rapist. I understand why you might feel strongly and be very hurt.

  4. I am sorry for your pain. Nobody can hurt you like family but you can only make your own choices, not someone else's.
