How To Pop Popcorn In A Paper Bag

You will need:
Tape, 1 paper bag and 2 handfuls of loose popcorn.

Take 2 handfuls of the popping corn and add it to the paper bag.

You don't need a lot. A little goes a long way.

Next, take a piece of tape and fold over the top of the bag and secure it with a piece of tape.

So that it looks like this.

Put the bag in the microwave and let it go for about 3-5 minutes.
Just like the bagged pop corn you buy. It's ready when the popping is 1-2 seconds apart.

Carefully remove the bag from the microwave and open.

Those 2 handfuls of popping corn made all this popcorn.

Of course I also had to show you what is on my refrigerator door.
Rat chow sticker.

5 small magnetic rats.

I have three different colors.

Cute, eh?

  1. Hmm,when you pictures went from the freshly popped corn to the magnet for the Rat Chow...I started wondering if you were microwaving Rat Chow in the bag or whether you were putting it over the freshly popped corn. Thanks for sharing, I will have to try that version, it sure would be cheaper than buying the prepackaged version!

  2. Much cheaper and you don't get all that chemical cheese and butter on it.

  3. wow that's pretty neat. Does the tape give off any fumes or anything? I'm thinking of doing this for my son's class, but you know how some parents are..............

  4. CaroleDee, I used regular tape like you see here and it didn't give off any fumes or melt or anything weird.

Let me know how it goes. :)
