My 10 Year Blogoversary!

I started this blog 10 years ago when a friend talked a couple of us into starting up a blog at the same time he did. TK *Trollking* was a friend from a couple of forums and yahoo groups that I frequented back then and he talked us into starting blogs of our own. Sadly TK passed away a couple of years ago and most of the friends that started up blogs back then, no longer keep up with their blogs, but I have slowly been plugging along for 10 years.

My blog has changed as I've changed over the years. I've met a lot of really wonderful people and made quite a few friends along the way.

Over the past 10 years I've shared pictures of my hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, rats and now my dog. I've shared the sorrow of my mother's passing, the joy of my grandson being born and my 24th anniversary with my wonderful hubby.

I've ranted, reviewed, shared my thoughts and advice. I don't think I ever really thought that I would still be blogging 10 years later or that anyone would read what I had to say, but many of you do and I thank you for sticking with me through so many years.

I hope that I'll be here in 10 more years and that you all will still be here with me.

To thank you all for visiting today and over the past 10 years. I decided that I would celebrate the day by sharing with you my mom's favorite soup recipe.

Egg Drop Soup

4 cups of vegetable stock or broth
3 cups of roasted and chopped carrots, celery and green onions
3 eggs well beaten
salt and pepper to taste

Place chopped vegetables on baking sheet. Sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper and roast in a 350 oven for 30 minutes or until done.

Add vegetable broth or stock to large pan and heat until almost to a boil, add roasted vegetables.
Let broth come to a boil and add beaten eggs a little at a time, stirring the entire time. Cook for 1 minute and serve.

  6. Wow! Congratulations on the ten year anniversary, that's quite an achievement.

I've not been blogging for as long as you have, but I know what you mean about people losing interest in their blogs and stopping. My first blog is still around but I'm a different person to who I was back then and there was no way I could evolve that blog to keep up with who I am now. But that doesn't make it any less of a shame when friends drop off the radar.

Looking forward to another ten years of blog posts. ;-)

  8. Wow! I don't think I know anyone in Blogland who has been here that long! Congrats! I'm at seven years. I'm always impressed when people stick with anything for 10 years, so way to go!

I also started because friends on a forum I followed also decided to blog.

    1. That's interesting that you started blogging because others were doing it too. Seven years is a long time. Back when I first started I was real sporadic. lol

  9. Ten years means you rock! Congrats! Always interesting to hear why people started blogging. I started as an outlet since I annoy everyone in my family already--it gives me fresh souls worldwide to annoy...
