Review: Degustabox

Degustabox is a monthly subscription box filled with food and drink. The normal price for the box is $19.99 but I got my first box for just $6.99 because they had a special going on.

You do not get to pick any of the products you get, it's a surprise each month. But they say each box contains 10-15 items and each box is worth at least $30. I like trying boxes like this because they usually contain products that I've never tried or haven't seen before.

Everything came nicely packed and secure in bubble wrap. Nothing was broken, crushed or torn open.

So what was in my box?

Alo Allure Mango Aloe Vera Juice- 1 bottle
Popchips Cheddar and Sour Cream chips- 1 bag
Goetze's Cow Tales bag of candy- 1 full size bag
White Lily White Grape Seed and Wheat Flour 1 bag
Sir Kensington's Chipotle Mayonnaise- I jar
Post Honey Bunches of Oats with Strawberries- full size box
Oregon Chai Tea Latte- 1 box
Loacker Rose of the Dolomite hazelnut chocolates-2 bars
Goya Maria Cookies- 1 pack
Vermont Smoke and Cure Mini Meat Sticks- 4 sticks

Ken and I tried almost everything and the only thing neither one of us liked was the Mango aloe vera juice. It had a medicine taste to it. But everything else was really good. That chipotle mayonnaise is really good but wow, it's spicy. The only thing I haven't tried was the White Grape Seed flour. But I'm sure I'll find a use for it at some point.

So if this sounds like something you'd like to try out, here's the link to their website.

  2. The mayo sounds good, but I am afraid that buying such a box would end up sitting in my pantry.

    1. I never have that problem. We end up using just about everything we bring into the apartment. I hate for things to go unused.

  3. A medicine taste is never one you want a product to have

  4. I don't think I've tried that particular aloe juice, but I've tried a few others. I was not a fan. I'm not a huge mayo fan, but I use it a little. I might have to give the spicy one a try. :-)

    1. I agree, this juice wasn't good. Other flavors might be ok though.

  5. That is quite a variety. I can see how it would be a good way to encounter foods you wouldn't always notice if you were just out shopping. And for $7 for this intro box, worth the gamble.

  6. What an eclectic bunch of food but so great that other than the juice, it was all pretty good.

    1. I don't like mango flavor so that might be why.

  8. That medicine taste probably would've scared me, but other than that, the rest of the box looked really good.

  9. The spicy mayo sounds good. Not bad if you only disliked one item!

    1. My daughter liked it so maybe it's just a flavor I don't care for.

  12. I like trying new things, so these boxes sound fun! I never heard of most of the things that were in this box. I like mango drinks, but not sure how well it combines with aloe vera. That medicine taste doesn't sound appealing. I am glad most of the other products were good.
